Just wondering does this make the team younger or older? Unless and until Pope actually transfers, it does not change anything one iota. Um….ok. Sure. You bet.

I'm sure tinkle has replacements lined up. Lol Do you think any coach other than the blue blood programs have replacements lined up for their players who have entered the portal? Lol.

You said that before the P12 Tourney. You’re losing credibility. Your optimism is admirable, but at some point a person should be realistic.

Pessimism, while it may be useful in isolation or in moderation, is associated with anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, hostility, high blood pressure, and heart disease. Fatalism is even more unhealthy. I am long on Oregon State football. I am long on Oregon State basketball. I am long on Oregon State baseball. I am long on the United States. If it is not Oregon State's time right now, it is just around the corner. If it is not the United States' time right now, it is just around the corner. I will remain optimistic. Great times are just around the corner. Believe it or not, Ripley.

I’m sure I could go off and find clever quips about how unhealthy unbridled optimism is when the results don’t happen, but I don’t care enough. Maybe do a thing on apathy. I’m just realistic, which I believe is the most healthy of three options.

He knew this, so he took his great coaches advice and ran straight forward to the portal!

I guess this shuts the door on those saying how much better we’ll be when the team returns next year. Wanna start guessing number of wins now to avoid the rush?

That is not really the vibe that I am picking up on. But I could be wrong. If your realism is enabling you to become a better person, great. You do you. But I have not heard any solutions.

Have you heard any solutions from the optimists? The pessimists? Yourself? Asking me, a realist, to provide a solution for a seemingly impossible situation is unrealistic in itself.

Asking me, a realist, to provide a solution for a seemingly impossible situation is unrealistic in itself. You are trying to extol the virtues of "realism." And I said that the only virtue of realism is that you would be able to formulate and extol solutions. If you have not formulated a solution, then I disagree that pessimistic "realism" would be in any way superior to optimism. I disagree with the denigration of my optimism, when there is no solution.
