Rochelin to the portal. I'm not surprised, I think there's a couple of kids that transferred in a while back that might consider looking for more minutes.

I appreciate his effort and wish him the best, but likely better for Beavers to have the scholarship open up. I think he had only 2 more points scored than he had fouls. Probably best for him too.

I'm not surprised, I think there's a couple of kids that transferred in a while back that might consider looking for more minutes. Watching him warm up you could see all the athleticism. Watching him in game you could see he played with a lot of intensity. He just wasn’t a pac 12 basketball player and I think he will be much happier at a smaller school where his athleticism can get him to the bucket, didn’t really work at this level. If he could have hit some wide open shots he could have been a big help this year.

Christian Wright also in the portal. Another one where it makes sense to let him move on and opens up the schollie. These could be two portal guys who after team meetings were told they weren't in the long-term plans and it was recommended they seek other opportunities, or maybe they made the choice on their own. Either way, does allow the chance to find a potential upgrade either at guard or another position. Assuming everyone else stays, this could (hopefully) work out just fine.

I still fully expect Jaden Stevens to bounce as well. Also Chol/Dex not to continue their playing career

I'm keeping my fingers crossed everone else stays and a scholarship for Lake is announced soon.

DeX is not a world beater, but I think he is better than most potential replacements

DeX is not a world beater, but I think he is better than most potential replacements I’m 99% sure he’s hanging them up. I don’t disagree that he has his moments of WOW…….i just don’t see him playing anymore

I don’t disagree that he has his moments of WOW…….i just don’t see him playing anymore He would be a great "glue guy" to keep around. He'd play a similar role that Zach Reichle played his final year maybe, just more of a dribble drive guy instead of a sharpshooter, 3 and D type. But I think he participated in the senior day ceremony so I'm not counting on him being back myself.

With Rochelin and Wright gone doesn't that make the team younger? The being young excuse lives on.

With Rochelin and Wright gone doesn't that make the team younger? The being young excuse lives on. Oregon State being young is a fact. I know that facts and deriving conclusions from those facts might make your head spin. If that happens, be sure to wet a washcloth with warm water, lie down, and place the wet washcloth completely over your face for at least 25-30 minutes. Repeat as necessary. Excuses are lies. Facts are facts. Badmouth the facts if you would like. Does not make them less true. But it is a free country and all.

With Rochelin and Wright gone doesn't that make the team younger? The being young excuse lives on. Funny the guy who ignores facts all the time to try and justify such things as the horrendous Pac12 and road records, the extremely weak NC schedules that produce the majority of the overall win total. Only certain facts matter to some. But, of course what is really missing... yep youth is a factual data point. Youth having any meaningful correlation to winning is not! So always remember just pick the biased facts.

With Rochelin and Wright gone doesn't that make the team younger? The being young excuse lives on. If Jordan, Tyler and Michael return, there's Jordan's 2200+ minutes, and Tyler’s 1600+ minutes, and Michael's 1400+ minutes worth of experience at the beginning of the season... Last season we only had 2 players with 1000 minutes of college basketball experience at the start of the season, Akanno with 1400+ and Pope with 1000+. Each of those 3 players will have more actual experience than any of this years team did at the beginning of the year. Ibekwe has more experience now than our entire roster of centers had at the beginning of this season... granted that's not saying much. If they all stay, next year's team will be significantly more experienced than this year's was. No guarantee they're staying though. We still could use some experienced help, via the portal most likely, but it's not known if it will happen. Assuming those kids stay, we should be a significantly more experienced team, "older" sorta depends on how you define it. Experience does count for something despite what some here say.
