Meanwhile, in semi #2 Iowa can't stop turning the ball over and can't hit a shot. Get ready for South Carolina vs. UConn for the Championship...again.

I will be rooting for both to lose...which isn't possible. So either way I will be disappointed with the National Champ. You've got the emerging dynasty vs. the old dynasty that hasn't quite gone away yet.

The Pac-12 hired officials (mostly the same ones) season to season, so while officials are independent contractors they were also Pac-12 refs for all practical purposes. That is not true. I have a friend who is an official. He does Pac12, MWC, WCC and other conference games. There are no Pac12 officials. There are only Pac12 officials for football. Yes, the fact that they are independent contractors allows them to work for multiple conferences. But you are saying that there's no such thing as Pac-12 officials, which is not exactly accurate. They still sign contracts to officiate Pac-12 games. There's a reason why we see a lot of the same faces working the games. That's why I said "for all practical purposes."

You would be accurate saying “west coast” referees, because the large pool of refs do all of the west coast conferences games.

To me, if you sign a contract to officiate Pac-12 games, you are a Pac-12 official. The fact that you can also be a West Coast Conference official, etc. doesn't really change that. They can be a (fill in the blank) conference official on any given night. I think this really comes down to semantics in both cases. Good chance nobody will be Pac-12 officials in the future anyway.

So if a handful of officials work all the Pac 12 games, we can't call them Pac 12 officials because Judge Smalls say so. Cool. It’s a lot more than a “handful”. It’s a very large pool of officials that do all levels of conferences throughout the west. And, yes, I said so. Ther is no such thing as “Pac12 officials”, other than in football.

Glad to be wrong. Iowa got off to such a terrible start I thought they were toast.
I quit watching the game, but kept an eye on the scoreboard. So...the call at the end, what do we think? Pretty obvious illegal screen to me. I get the whole swallow the whistle in that situation thing, but I also think a foul is a foul.
I think there have been 2 head to head matchups w/ Clark and Bueckers. Seems like both had a bit subpar games each time. 1-1 record. UConn beat them another time when Bueckers was out injured IIRC.
Yeah, I won't be shedding any tears. UConn hasn't won a Title since Stewie and her classmates left, 2016 was the last time.

Beers would be be called for that screen all day, every day, I had absolutely no problem with it. I see SC rolling Iowa, but I hope I'm wrong.

That was 100 percent a foul. Arguing about whether it should have been called "in that moment" is nonsense.
