Talia opens up to USC YouTubers. Sounds like she was gone in any scenario. Not sure it was just to experience another school/get a graduate degree, or if it was to be in a system closer to what the WNBA plays. She really leaned into making the WNBA. Then there was a domino effect when one or more said they were leaving, with the WCC being the reason for players after the first few bailed. That's my reading of her comments. She wants to be WNBA ready, maybe another got a NIL deal?, then the remainder wanted to get to a power conference?

Sigh. I know there are plenty of hard feelings here toward UO and UW for torpedoing last ditch efforts to save the Pac, but it really was the LA schools that led to the downfall of the whole thing. And now they are sitting there picking off most of the best transfers from the former Pac schools. It was always hard to root for LA schools, I could do it sometimes for conference solidarity. Don't think I'm going to extend them that courtesy in the Big 10. What are they supposed to do, not take stars away who want to leave? They'd still leave, just somewhere else. My gut says the only ones who wouldn't do that maybe would be Utah. Each of them played a part in the whole debacle. The LA schools, UO/UW, Colorado... it wasn't a one school effort. But...history. |

A WNBA team ain't taking a 3rd option player. |

She entered the transfer portal two days after the season ended. Obviously was planned ahead of time. I don't think she will make it in the WNBA but I can't blame her for chasing her dream. There isn't a lot of spots available in the WNBA. A lot less teams than the NBA. |

I really wonder what was said in the player only meetings this last season. And who said it.
As for tvo going wnba? She is a long shot at getting drafted and making it on a team is very much less likely. I didn't realize that gotleib was a coach known to develop talent for the next level, oh wait, she isn't.
