Colorado lost another to the portal, Tameiya Sadler. Looked like a stud her Fr. year at Washington, but has gone nowhere in 3 years at Colorado. Like Vonleh will be at her third school. What happened in Boulder? They lost several key players to graduation, but have been bleeding out players to the portal. Could've still had a decent nucleus next year, now they look to be in rebuilding mode. I think JR likely has a good plan in place for what they’re up to. I don't see how losing Vonleh could've possibly been part of a plan. Probably their best player last season. Between transfers and graduations they are down to only 2 of their top 7 scorers returning. Formann and Wetta are decent players but not exactly a stout nucleus by themselves. Not aware of any big incoming transfers for the Buffs. Garzon from Oklahoma St. and Diew from Iowa St. look like role players.

But I will guarantee that Colorado has a great team by next season.

Found out today that Lucy Olsen got 600k to go to Iowa. The world we live in, is not what it was even a year ago. Lucy is a stud, she’s not Caitlin Clark but who is. Iowa isn’t willing to be left behind so they threw huge money at the best scoring guard available. Reagan is likely getting minimum 250k at Oklahoma, I’m guessing more. The true stars are getting paid. I know there are those on here that will call BS. That’s fine, just know that I’m not making the number Lucy got up. That's interesting, because the Iowa football fans are complaining about how the football players aren't getting close to that kind of money. But the women's basketball team is? That seems improbable. And on Oklahoma. The softball team, near and dear to an Oklahoman's heart, has their top player at $40-60k. I'd make it a toss-up as to whether Beers will be getting more or less than what she could get at OSU. And that is not 250k.

All of these college prima Donnas are in for a rude awakening when college ends and they have to get real jobs.

But she must have gotten something to go there. I found it interesting and disheartening that at the top of her Instagram is a link to a person who handles her NIL representation, aka agent. Still waiting to see where this all lands when the House lawsuit is settled and more and more teams become have not. Either those teams buckle or media buckles.

I should have said it has been reported, not implying that it is a known fact. Angie Machado said she heard/was told that he interviewed with other schools. I was the one that posted that in the first place. I don't know any details but I'm going to go ahead and say that it's highly likely Machado got the info from a reliable source. Angie is a Canzano wanna be... everything from her is a "reliable source". If she isn't directly talking to the person and "quoting" them, she's typically full of it. She and the entire industry she's in, lives off rumor and hoping something comes of it so they can "break" a story. Nah

I'm still holding onto the hope that Dom will stay. It's certainly not evidence-based hope!! Some of you out there seem to have contact with the players.... Any hope for the hopeful concerning Dom? GO BEAVS!! Well there was this posted on here 2 days ago: Apr 28, 2024 at 8:21am Post by concordoldnorth on Apr 28, 2024 at 8:21am Rumor "Dono" took her name out of transfer portal. (Beavers Behind Enemy Lines) But I've seen nothing more on this since then?

Saw it on the news tonight. You are right. As opposed to all those other college kids who live in the hard, cold, real world? A lot more college kids are used to paying for at least part of their education and working part-time than are making $$$ beyond their scholarship and cost of attendance stipend. I'd say it might be easier for someone who is finally getting paid in their first job and who had to fend for themself during college to adjust to the real world than for someone whose main source of income has just been shut off, who never held even a part-time job while in college and who had everything pretty much handled (living arrangements, meals, registration/scheduling) for them by someone else.

Someone once said that June is the month when new graduates, armed with their degrees and beliefs, go forth to conquer the world; July is the month when the world launches its counteroffensive.
It would seem logical that those who have not been coddled, and not had other people solving their problems for them, will tend to fare better in July. When you're used to driving a free car because you play football, it must be somewhat unsettling when told what your monthly car payment will be.

I was recently having a conversation about the Beaver's woes in WBB with a friend who is very high up in the basketball division of a certain shoe company and was conveying to me a conversation with a colleague of his who had direct knowledge of what was going on at OSU. He was told by his source that the mass transfer exodus was due to 2 things- NIL $ opportunities and the drop down to the WCC. He specifically said Beers will command 300K-400K in the transfer market. Now, I know rgeorge will vehemently deny this is possible but I 100% trust my friend and he is in the basketball world at a very high level.

I wonder what Beers was getting in NIL at Oregon St.

$ Again. I started out MLB fan, Box Score, AM Radio, attend 1 per year with dad. Early career game attendance came when I could afford it. About twenty years ago they player movement and the money thing drove me away. Needed a new sport. Wife played Div 1 WBB so I switch over to WBB. Total fun attending games with wife. Her perspectives our off the chart insightful. For example. "This years team doesn't really have a lot talent or highly skilled players, but they are very coachable. Scotts done a great job with them." Why we like Scott is "Bring in 8 more mentality."
Anyway Beavdog, 400K for Beers? Yikes. We'll keep our Eason tickets.
