When Coach SR was hired, he had a quote I remember to this day (because I on occasion use it): "my players don't have to like each other, but they do have to love each other".....I wonder if the dislike overtook the love at some point. I've decided it's none of my business what "broke up the band", but we didn't see a lot of creative conflict on the bench or floor, and we certainly heard about the love of family (I even have the Orange "We are family" t-shirt somewhere) - feels like that "perfect" family in the neighborhood that suddenly and shockingly falls apart. Or the conference change was a bridge too far for these high-level players - catbird seat for the family to a similar or better March Madness run notwithstanding. I'm left hoping they all land up at UConn or South Carolina so at least there is some logic to the move for me, but I'll settle for some new recruits to ponder or the next season to roll around, in other words, things that seem more possible at this point :-).

Vonleh to Baylor, where she'll be facing her old team. I don't really see the appeal with BU. They're still decent, but they are a far cry from what they were under Mulkey.

Good job Scott. I needed someone to pull me out of my "Elite 8 Eight Girls Leave" funk mode and Scott just did. His brief "Dam Proud Day" comments helped. This is the new normal. The team structure didn't change, OSU didn't change, Scotts is here, Gill is here, 5 players are here, a new Team Will be on the court this fall, take it one year at a time from now on. OSU will still be trying to head to the Tournament.
It is painful, it is hard on everyone, but we've got to move on quick. I am eager to do that. I've been to a lot of WCC games at UoP and PSU (Worked at PSU for 20+ years, they play some WCC every year). It's very good basketball and fun to watch. They are good and challenging teams.

Lily is not going to Indiana. In fact, she would not have left Oregon State if her team was intact. She has turned down five Big Ten teams for PAC 12 teams. She has been loyal to Oregon State by not joining any of those teams. Ask me anything I will tell you have a great night. So favre how many of those that left would have to return for Lily to be loyal to oregon state again? |
