Hope she enjoyed the all expense paid trip to Europe. Bet she didn't complain about the lowly competition on that freebie.

Heck, I’m so old I remember when kids went to college to get an education. And if they got tuition, books, room and board on an athletic scholarship it was their dreams come true.

Oh, the good old days. Soon they won't even have to take classes. ”We ain’t come here to play school!” Cardale Jones was way ahead of his time. With all this speculation... big NIL $ (none of our players are $50k+ types), WCC, etc... none have mentioned the key component, today's youth! First... excuse the lengthy rant. None. Zero of this is a surprise. For the last decade+ kids have become more and more selfish and overly concerned with instant gratification. They've seen their decisions not have consequences. Negatives are the fault of others, blame is a normal way of life. Team... athletic or relationships... eventually boils down to "what can you do for me?" I remember being called out when saying this "family" BS was coach/player speak. Every team says the same thing and it hasn't meant crap for a decade+. I was both fortunate and unfortunate to span a period where teaching/coaching went from highly respected to, well... not so much! From, "... do what they tell you." To, "... what did they say, we'll see about that." It's not as much the structure of the game has changed, as much as the vast majority of the participants. The why is a whole different rant. FWIW... my opinion to an earlier post. Timea played 1 2/3 seasons. She's not in the top 30 of OSU WBB players. She has skills, potential... but that's not what a great career is. Ok... feel fine now!

Alirght, I've got a theory on TG's transfer. Remember, I have zero inside knowledge and really don't know what I'm talking about but, as I tell my wife, I am an amateur psychologist, so her's the only thing I can come up with. BTW, as you can imagine , my wife loves it when I saw that. LOL!
TG came to OSU as the highest recruit ever in Beaver WBB history. She has often been THE go to player on her teams. She came here and was hurt for most of her freshman year, for the most part. Don't think she enjoyed that. This year she came in supposedly healed but still found herself coming in off the bench. I'm going to guess she didn't love that. She earned herself a starting position by the end of the season but she still wasn't the go-to player on the team, that's Beers. When she feels like she's 100% and playing great, which she definitely was, she probably wants to be THE star on the team. She might feel like this is RB's team. And in many ways it kind of is. She may not like that and wants to be a star on the team. The thing is she IS a star on this team and it takes more than one star to be a championship team. I too believe she was on her way to being an All American on this team but I guess we'll never know. I've said before, I don't believe that NIL in WBB is that big of a player with our transfers unless you're a national star and there's only a couple of those-NONE on our team. I think dropping down to the WCC is the biggest detterant for these girls and for TG my theory just mentioned also. Those two together may be enough for her to bail. I agree with all of you that this team, this coach, wouldn't of suffered by being in the WCC. I truly believe they would of been a final four caliber squad, at least next year and the year after. Unfortunately, we'll never know. It's a shame and this is really a college athletics travesty.
It is interesting that there's been a little of a pattern with our biggest transfers in that they seem to start getting cold feet after the 2nd year. I get there's several different potential reasons but maybe there's something within SR's system or culture that wears on some players and they're fed up after 2 years. I love SR and I'm not aiming to start any rumors at all. I happen to think he's the best basketball coach, mens or womens, OSU has ever had so it's hard for me to imagine it's him but patterns aren't patterns for no reason. Who knows man?! Only the players do. Sure would be nice to have a true, true insiders perspective.
Not sure where we go from here. I guess we just hope RB and Dono and Dom stick around.

There is a phrase from my military days that seems to fit the current "transfer mania" situation very well.
In determining the value, character, and dependability of your companions the rule of thumb was- "Would I want to be in a foxhole with this person when facing an enemy who might at any time threaten to kill me and over run our position".
If they would run or quit at that point you knew they would react the same way under various pressures that occur through life.
Your answer about that person would be the litmus test of that person's character.
I am sure many will respond that these young women have the right to do exactly what they are doing when they transfer out. I would agree 100%. I would also agree that every situation is different.
However seemingly for every situation that a transfer for health or family emergencies is necessary, there are many, many, more that are for greed or other selfish motives.
In those situations non-related to health or family emergencies, the question remains how would each of you evaluate how much you could depend on that person when the "chips were down" if they had clearly shown they would rather cut and run then face even minor adversity?
Imagine for a moment, that when the blood clots were discovered during Timea's time at OSU and it was clear that she would not be available for several months to play basketball, OSU had decided to drop her scholarship, start looking for other players to replace her, etc., etc. Totally unacceptable ethically, morally, and humanely for OSU to do that !
However seemingly the player can say a few pious sounding words and excuse totally unacceptable behavior! Sorry won't ever fly with me.
Great a country as we have, the worship of greed and money may yet be it's downfall.
Go Beavs!

Boy, no one has any clue why Timea is leaving but it's like a pack of hyenas circling around the carcass.
NIL? WCC? Style of play? Who knows! Maybe she just doesn't like what OSU itself offers, outside of women's basketball.

Because, as you said, we have no clue.

Maybe it was their combined 6 for 22 and 2 for 11 from 3p that made them decide to leave.
