Boy, no one has any clue why Timea is leaving but it's like a pack of hyenas circling around the carcass. NIL? WCC? Style of play? Who knows! Maybe she just doesn't like what OSU itself offers, outside of women's basketball. Pretty easy to assume that she wasnt starting most of the season and reese was? Could be the reason.

Alirght, I've got a theory on TG's transfer. Remember, I have zero inside knowledge and really don't know what I'm talking about but, as I tell my wife, I am an amateur psychologist, so her's the only thing I can come up with. BTW, as you can imagine , my wife loves it when I saw that. LOL! TG came to OSU as the highest recruit ever in Beaver WBB history. She has often been THE go to player on her teams. She came here and was hurt for most of her freshman year, for the most part. Don't think she enjoyed that. This year she came in supposedly healed but still found herself coming in off the bench. I'm going to guess she didn't love that. She earned herself a starting position by the end of the season but she still wasn't the go-to player on the team, that's Beers. When she feels like she's 100% and playing great, which she definitely was, she probably wants to be THE star on the team. She might feel like this is RB's team. And in many ways it kind of is. She may not like that and wants to be a star on the team. The thing is she IS a star on this team and it takes more than one star to be a championship team. I too believe she was on her way to being an All American on this team but I guess we'll never know. I've said before, I don't believe that NIL in WBB is that big of a player with our transfers unless you're a national star and there's only a couple of those-NONE on our team. I think dropping down to the WCC is the biggest detterant for these girls and for TG my theory just mentioned also. Those two together may be enough for her to bail. I agree with all of you that this team, this coach, wouldn't of suffered by being in the WCC. I truly believe they would of been a final four caliber squad, at least next year and the year after. Unfortunately, we'll never know. It's a shame and this is really a college athletics travesty. It is interesting that there's been a little of a pattern with our biggest transfers in that they seem to start getting cold feet after the 2nd year. I get there's several different potential reasons but maybe there's something within SR's system or culture that wears on some players and they're fed up after 2 years. I love SR and I'm not aiming to start any rumors at all. I happen to think he's the best basketball coach, mens or womens, OSU has ever had so it's hard for me to imagine it's him but patterns aren't patterns for no reason. Who knows man?! Only the players do. Sure would be nice to have a true, true insiders perspective. Not sure where we go from here. I guess we just hope RB and Dono and Dom stick around. That is exactly what we do---We hope that our NIL can get decent enough deals done for RB, Dono, and Dom to stick around and if these 3 stay I think most if not all of the rest of the team stays. Maybe add in a couple of portal transfers to replace the 2 defectors and this will still be a very good team next year easily capable of winning the WCC and maybe getting as far as the sweet 16 in the post season.

What is happening in college sports is a reflection of modern society. Sociologists have written bookshelves of material about at what is at best a hyper-individualistic. and at worse narcissistic era and society we live in. It is not just the kids; it permeates much of society. Jean Twenge a Sociologist was ahead of the curve when she wrote the book, The Narcissism Epidemic: Living in the Era of Entitlement in 2010. The renowned Sociologist Robert Putnam refers to it as Cultural Narcissism. It has been building for decades and it is going to get worse before it gets better. Hopefully it turns and we move more towards a "We" model of society and community and away from the "I" model.

If RB stays maybe coaches recruit Grace VanSlooten to fill the 4 spot vacated by Timea and Chance Gray to replace TvO?

Is there actually any real chance Beers stays? From what I've seen of RB, she is genuinely thoughtful, considerate, and all the things you'd want to see in your own daughter. I received a personal thank you card for a small donation for her expected trip to build bb courts in Central America. That's how thoughtful she is. We need young people like her! I pray she stays, but I know nothing of what she has to consider.

Is there actually any real chance Beers stays? Coach Rueck speaks often about "problem solving" with his players, and how much he enjoys it. I sure hope Rueck and RB are problem solving together on how to rebuild their team for next season.

This has been brought up recently but our more recent top recruits (other than talia) lasted two years - brown, Taylor, Greta, gardiner. ...maybe others). What's the deal with two years? Gives them enough time to get selfish and become glory hound seeking arrogant look at me personalities. This will kill OSU WBB for the foreseeable future. Fan base, GONE!! Hope you BEAVERS FOREVER are happy now!!

NIL and the transfer portal has turned college athletes into mercenaries willing to play for the highest bidder, it is going to kill the golden goose (fans) when players have zero attachment to the University. Long gone are the traditional aspirations of “I came here to win a championship” “I came here for the coach” “I came here because I love the University”…… all of that is out the door, it’s all about money… period. I just wonder if these young gals have the wisdom to see that leaving a University for $50-100k now is such a miniscule amount of money compared to the lifelong memories, relationships, potential Final Fours and Championships that were headed their way. I’m 60 years old and I can tell you with certainty, it is not. Very well put, that's something that money can't buy, along with ethical behavior, trust, and honoring commitments, which now means nothing. The remaining team will be a shadow of one that could have given these self-aggrandizing traitors something they will never have, a sense of honesty and the memory of the teammates they $hit on and threw aside will follow them the rest of their lives. Dead to the Beav family and the fanbase will move on too.

I've said NOTHING that hasn't already been posted on here MANY times. So, I'll just ignore your petty grade school bully behaviors. Have a nice day.

Ultimatly the Transfer Portal is a sad place for players and fans. Dreams and hopes that once guided players and fans get trashed. Hopefully in a couple of months the anguish will pass. A new team emerges allowing the sadness to fade away.

www.sfchronicle.com/sports/college/article/kiki-iriafen-transfers-stanford-women-face-19390943.phpReally interesting article from SF chronicle. Mentions collectives paying players $700,000: “And though NIL prospects might be getting better at Stanford after the athletic department finally endorsed the Lifetime Cardinal collective last week, Stanford generally has been perceived to be behind in that space. One source said top women’s basketball players are being paid upwards of $700,000 at top collectives, and they are allowed to contact players during the season without their current coaches knowing. So schools could have been pursuing Iriafen during her breakout season before Stanford has the opportunity to achieve what it wants this offseason.“

Can you say "click bait".
