Hainline with a big FU to all the people on this board that wanted to bench him. Kinda doubt that's what he was thinking as the ball cleared the fence.

And boys, maybe you should approach the season looking at the next game, rather than how the Beavs are going to run the table on the Pac 12, how they'll host a regional and superregional, and maybe, meet Arkansas for a repeat. You boys almost jinxed the team. Boys? And really, a message board jinx. C’mon. We’d have never won in any sport if that was a thing. Baseball players are the most superstitious of athletes. If they read the comments, they'd have to run through three dormitories - at 0200 - on Monday - nude - smoking a joint - and singing "take me out to the ballgame"

Shout out to Hainline. He kept us in the game until we could close it. Now we know why they wanted him out of the portal.

This is really easy for me to say, since I was doing family stuff and didn't follow the game at all except to check the message board now and then, but I was never worried.
I don't mean I always thought the Beavers were going to win. I just mean that I didn't feel like we needed to decide that our offense was definitely hopeless, and that we started the wrong pitcher, and that so and so couldn't do this, and so and so couldn't do that.
I mean, it's baseball. And it's the first game of a series. I didn't see the downfall of the season in this one game.
Now, did I expect the Beavers to score five runs in the bottom of the 9th and pull out a win? No. But, so what? Did they have to win in order for this season to still turn out okay?

So apparently this team likes to come from behind It isn't how I want them playing, but it's a nice ability to have.

If I remember correctly, did the 2017 and 2018 teams not have an ability to pull games out of their @$$ when things weren't necessarily going well like we witnessed tonight? Might have been more the 2018 team as the 2017 team beat the doors off pretty much everyone, but seems like both those squads were pretty good ball clubs.
