Two of our homers only went out because of the wind. It was howling to left. I was there freezing my ass off. Just saw that MMDs was 42 degrees at 103 mph. Dude caught a jet stream to get that out lol I was talking about the first 2. Krieg and Hainline’s were both outs with no wind.

Pitching is generally considered to be 75-80% of baseball. If you can pitch, you can win. Pitching (and defense) travels. Offense always doesn't. We won't go far in the postseason, or win the conference, averaging more than 6 free passes per game. We probably won't. Our free base rate almost always improves after March. It's also natural for a team to be higher free base rate at the begining of the season as the bullpen settles out and starters are found. I certainly hope so. Segua walked two in five innings, that's OK. He turned over a 7-2 lead to the bullpen, needing only 12 outs to win. The bullpen gave up 8 BB/HBP in four innings. That's the only way CSUN even had a chance to come back and win.

Someone was complaining about radio calling them CSUN instead of Cal State University Northridge. Turns out they request media to call them CSUN. How do they say it? Sea-sun? or the four letters individually, like C S U N? I've always just said Northridge or Northridge State. When I spent a lot of time in San Bernardino, young people would say "state" when referring to Cal State San Bernardino. In the mid 2000's they were the Coyotes, but I think now they are known as the Yotes. They are DII in the California Collegiate Athletics Association along with the Humboldt State Lumberjacks, Cal Poly Pomona Broncos, Chico State Wildcats, Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros, Cal State East Bay Pioneers, Cal State LA Golden Eagles, Cal State Monterey Bay Otters, Cal State San Marcos Cougars, Cal State Stanislaus Warriors, San Francisco State Gators, and the Sonoma State Seawolves. UC Merced will join next year. Cal State LA was DI for a while in the 70's. They will always be Cal St. Northridge to me. I'm not using their pretentious acronym.

And it's a sweep of a very good team. It’s a sweep, but that’s not a good team. My criteria are different from yours. You go by numbers and ranking; I look at the players on the field. Sure, they could use some pitchers, but otherwise the team fought hard and never gave up. You can pooh pooh that away as you often do, but I won’t. We had a little luck on our side in getting all four games.

In the 1930s, they adopted the nickname "The Golden Gaters". Local media shortened it to "Gaters", which everyone assumed was " Gators". The university eventually changed it officially to "Gators".

Gators? Not so much. The more you know!

I was at those games and that is a below average team. Let’s be real about this. CSUN went 34-17 last year, and this year were 9-2 coming into this series. Their SOS won’t be anything special because they are a big west school, but bottom line is they have been a winning program as of late. It’s my opinion in watching every beaver game that CSUN was absolutely better than NDSU, and will finish near the top of the Big West along with good teams like UC Irvine and UCSB. They aren’t Arkansas or Duke, but they are competitive and feisty. I firmly believe they would steal a game or two in a series against other pac 12 teams like UO, UW, UCLA. We got the sweep, so that’s all that really matters. People can nitpick about walks and starting pitching, but I’m not too concerned. The last two weekends we have played in horrible baseball weather the majority of the time. Playing baseball in 30’s and 40’s with wind and rain absolutely impacts the game and makes playing miserable. Additionally, and more importantly, we have been missing key starters in McDowell, Kasper, Caraway, and May, and we also are down three legit relievers Aj Lattery, Kyle Scott, and Laif Palmer (our 2nd highest rated freshman pitching prospect behind James Decremer, who is also out with an injury). If you consider all that, I’d say the sweep was big against a scrappy team who was hot coming in. Every win matters in baseball, and in non conference play we have done about as well as anyone could have expected up to this point at 15-1. If this team can get to full strength, I think we continue to roll and win the next two series (Utah and Washington) along with the midweek game against Portland next week.

We won one game by 1 point. We won two by 2 points. We came dangerously close to losing today.
Forget Omaha, boys. Judge has ruled against us.
I saw a team that never quit. That's a sign of good coaching. After getting blown out in the first game, you'd think a below average team would've just phoned it in, but they didn't. Below average teams don't tend to do that.

But he was AT THE GAMES!! He saw them in person. He said they are not good. Case closed lol

Is that at the end of the season or 16 games in? Is winning only based on pitching? Seems like pitching can be worse if your offense is better. Also did you catch our strike rate today? Last I looked it was hovering around 60% in the 7th. Pitching is generally considered to be 75-80% of baseball. If you can pitch, you can win. Pitching (and defense) travels. Offense always doesn't. We won't go far in the postseason, or win the conference, averaging more than 6 free passes per game. Nor when combined with 1/3+ of your offensive outs are strike outs. Add to that to the strength of the schedule it's not really great. That said, the Pac12 seems to be down. Last I took a peek rated the 6th best conference. Very down maybe??

Here's my fear. The Pac12 is so down this year that they wont even field a conference next year. The teams are just going to quit or find another conference to play in. Don't laugh, it could happen.

Using the term "points" doesn't help your case. And, I never said anything about Omaha.
