The 1962 Mets might be the worst team ever. They still beat the 1962 NL campion Giants four times in 18 tries. Some of you don't understand how baseball works. It's not football. One position (pitcher) has an inordinate influence on the outcome. Even the worst teams win 25-30% of the time. I think a lot of us know how baseball baseballs, and choose to be tongue in cheek on an message bored because it's fun, and a loss to NDSU would get some people worried, and those people should be made fun of. As much as possible. A lot of us have watched 20+ years of Beaver ball. Some have watched more. Based on interweb points, some on here installed home plate at Goss and watched Brian Wilson stop a train with a home run, and others think that anything less than 44 wins and a trip to Omaha is a failure of a season. In the end, try not to take massage boreds to serriosly. This 100% Kudos to the Bison starter. That kid had a legit, quality start, against arguably the best lineup in college baseball. I think we are going to have quite a few games like this......lineup is held down by a solid starter, and then a crooked inning, or two. No game will be out of reach with our lineup.

Worst team ever they most certainly were, but, in all 120 losses (would have been 122 but for rainouts never replayed), they were never once shut out. Incidentally, in the first seven years of their existence, they lost on opening day every time, and were never, for even a single day, able to boast a winning, or even .500, record. They finally got above .500 in 1969, and went on to win the World Series.

Well thankfully NDSU is falling apart! They will be extremely demoralized if they end up losing this one Good.

Reminds me of the ole "we let them win" or "they beat themselves" complaints. Everyone is typically trying to win and the result is based on execution and ability. If every match in sports was driven by ability then the results would never be in question.

If every match in sports was driven by ability then the results would never be in question. That's the beauty of baseball. So many games within the game. It's not all about brute strength (football) or height, and athleticism (basketball). It's about execution and mental toughness in the face of adversity......lots of time to dwell on K's or errors

I think it was Tommy Lasorda that said you're going to win one third of your games and lose one third. It's the other third that make the difference.
