I am OK with Jones PH. I can guarantee that everyone in the dugout now truly believes they could be called at any time to perform. It could pay dividends in the future, make everyone sharper. Interesting analysis. Thanks.

If we could have just made contact w the runner on third and one out in the 9th……. Or if the pitcher had thrown one more wild pitch....

Mitch also should have told the guys to not strikeout 23 times. Sheesh. This game is not on MC. Did I say the game was on Mitch? Where? Please show me. He’s the one that made “the decision”

Hmmmm... "game" vs "decision"?
Questionable decision, which didn't determine the game.

Their HBP was better than our bunt? Tell ya one thing this will be a rare game where our fans are out numbered. Gotta hand it to them. Arkansas fans travel pretty well. Sure felt like they filled Omaha, too, back in 18. Wouldn't you be thrilled to leave, if you lived there?

I understand the concerns on the K’s, but that guy is the number 2 pitcher in the country and had the best game of his career. Just happened to be against us, and we still almost won. I’m equally as impressed that we didn’t throw in the towel and gave ourselves a chance to win that. We need games like that to prep us for big games later on in the season. We won’t see another pitcher that dominant again unless we face Wake Forest or Arkansas in the postseason. They still almost won because they pulled him. If you’re one of the top lineups in the country you can’t come out and set the record for strikeouts against anybody. They didn’t seem to make any adjustments.

He’s the one that made “the decision” Its one thing to question a pinch hitting decision; it’s something else to pin a loss one the guy that made that decision. I think you can see the difference, so don’t go blowing up my statements just to attack them. Makes you look foolish.

I think the 2017/18 teams would’ve found ways to get on and get to the pitcher. Bazzana going down 3 times was painful. He has to lead the way with adjustments.

Guys it was a super competitive great game that featured multiple first rounders. If there is ever going to be a quality loss that's the one.
Smith is an incredible talent. Just watch Caraways first swing against the new pitcher after facing that fire hose. He swung like 8 ft early due to trauma.
That game was pretty awesome.

Why y'all saying there wasn't adjustments? Did you not notice them start swinging on the first two pitches after the first time around. What adjustment are they going to make? Bunt every play?
In Baseball the best pitchers win alot of games and don't give up many hits. That guy was the best pitcher in the country tonight.

Game's over. But, OSU has faced a lot, A LOT, of highly talented pitchers and never K'd 17 times.
Hagen is one of the best pitchers in the country. OSU made him look like a MLB starter. He's a college Jr that came in with an ERA of 27.00 facing 7 batters in 1 inning vs James Madison. He'sseen his low and high in just two starts.
He had a great night, OSU was bad. I'm betting neither will be as great or as bad the remainder of the season.

He has to lead the way with adjustments. I love that. They have to make “adjustments.” Have you guys ever faced a projected first round pick with a 98-100 mile per hour fastball? The guy is a stud and had a legendary game. Our guys were overmatched by him tonight. Tip your cap to him and move on to the next game. We are a top ten team in the country without a doubt. Teams lose in baseball, it happens. Top ten LSU lost at home to Stony Brook 5-2. Top ten Clemson lost at home to Kennesaw State 18-1. We lost by one run to the number two team in the country and couldn’t hit for six innings. I think we will be fine. Nobody is happy with that many K’s, especially the Beaver coaches and players. But I’m sure they agree that their pitcher is damn good and honestly just shoved it against us tonight, he kicked our ass no ifs/ands about it. But this is a team game. Once he was out it immediately became a really good game and we almost won. I like our chances in a series against those guys. If you remember in 2018, Arkansas’ ace beat us in game one to go 14-0 on the season, a remarkable accomplishment. But we went out and won the next two. An ace can only do so much, as we showed tonight. It was one game, and he pitched brilliantly. I’d love another crack at them later in the season.

Hartle gave up one earned on a solo shot in a 14-2 win over Dayton.

When an All-American with +98 heater is able to consistently hit the corners with his slider. Well, there isn’t much most hitters can do except hope he makes a mistake.
