I'm guessing baseball is not conducive in Fargo until about June We should be able to put them in the woodchipper.

I'm guessing baseball is not conducive in Fargo until about June Their first home game isn't until April 5. North Dakota gave up and dropped its program about 5-10 years ago. The smaller state colleges (Minot, Dickinson, Valley City, Mayville) still play I think, as does Jamestown University. Former MLB ump Gary Cederstrom played at Minot State. Ex-Angel star/Nebraska coach Darin Erstad is from Jamestown. Baseball in the Upper Midwest is not easy. Some teams still play tournaments at the Vikings new stadium. Before it was torn down the Metrodome was constantly used in February and March by Minnesota/ND/SD/Wisconsin programs.

Do we play LSU this year? What a great bat. He has to hit No. 2 in the lineup.

They invite two different teams (not great comp) and alternate the (4) games, Th/S then Fr/Su vs the other. I'd love to see that type of setup for a long weekend series at Goss.

Love the concept but ... NIU and Stony Brook are also playing two games against Northwestern State in Baton Rouge, so they each get four games. Unless we partner with Oregon or UP so the visiting teams get four games, I'm not sure how we could pull of a similar scenario. Teams aren't flying here for two games.

The two visiting teams would also play each other twice, though the duck tie-in would be better.

Dernedde is not looking good. Misplayed a hard hit grounder to him, and lucky they didn’t charge him with error. Then a few batters later he overthrew 1st base. Cowboys up 7-1

I recall something like this was done years ago, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Connecticut were the invites. I think Nike paid for it, making it viable for these teams to travel here.

Cowboys up 7-1 Two strikeouts in three at bats, too. He was doing very well coming into the game (better than Hainline), though. I posited on the other thread that he was wilting under the bright lights.

Nike College Showcase. Oregon and Oregon State each played home games against West Virginia, Illinois, Connecticut, and Oklahoma. West Virginia, Illinois, Connecticut, and Oklahoma each played two of the other three teams, as well. Cool setup. I do not know why it has not been repeated. Oregon going 2-2 might have something to do with it.
