Four on Bona is the highlight right now. Bilodeau would still be a beast, if he could play defense without hacking. He's like a more talented Maurice Calloo. He's way more willing to mix it up than Calloo. Except for the game against his own team he largely loitered around the 3 point line. Calloo was a good 3 point shooter, but he had a lot of potential in the front court he didn't show... I think Lake make more of a difference under the basket than he did most of the time. |

The last three minutes of the game have shown the difference in the teams. We just sort of fell apart.

Missed a few free throws, couple short misses on good looks in the post, and didn't do a great job on the boards. Decent game, UCLA is playing a lot better than they were a month ago (so are we, but still work to do on the road). UCLA got a couple of rolls we didn't down the stretch. Felt like a game we could've won with a bounce here and there and a little better job on the boards. I found myself invested in this game more than at any other point in the season, so progress I guess, but we dug ourselves a hole early in the conference season and it's a little too late for "moral victories". Get after USC this weekend and the week is still a positive IMO.

Good game. Two things stick out to me; we were out-rebounded by double digits, and the GLARING stat that we only had 6 assists. The WHOLE damn game. Not going to win MANY games with those shortcomings.

Not going to win MANY games with those shortcomings. We shot a decent % from the floor even with those dismal assist numbers. I give UCLA credit for some of that number, they played good defense all night, especially against Pope. But definitely need to be better off the ball to help the ball handlers out to get that number up. |

Sadly this is a very offensively challenged UCLA team. They get tons of open looks and just don't shoot well for the most part. Bona is athletic but always in a rush. But, man can they play D and rebound. No one can play m2m at all 5 positions like they can and that keeps them in games.
Having not only a guy like Andrews that made Pope's life miserable, but guys that can switch and hedge.
But another 5 min scoreless stretch in the 2nd half was big. Then another 11-3 stretch later. Scoring just 60+ and -10 on the boards when in the road isn't going to cut it.
Hopefully SC has packed it in. Hugely talented that can't play together.

If OSU can get a win at USC, then that would be 3 out of last 4 and some momentum. Then I think the crowds will be better for Washington schools. |

Just speaking for myself, I had to watch the game on my laptop tonight so that made it difficult to post. I did find myself more engaged tonight than any other game I've watched on TV this year though. |

Good game and not a bad loss. Have to be impressed that the team kept up the effort to the last minute.
I know OSU is not a great offensive team, but I agree with the posters lauding UCLA's defense. Ralph Miller (and Wayne Tinkle!) would be proud to get that kind of defensive effort and results.
A win against usc is very realistic.
