I followed the WT hire. He was the last man standing to take a job nobody else wanted. Current UW coach Mike Hopkins was a finalist. He's gonna get fired at UW, how would he have done at OSU? Eric Musselman was also a final candidate. Does anybody think he actually considered taking the job? Hell no. He was smart and waited. He loves Arkansas. I don't think a lot of people liked the WT hire from the onset. That displeasure slowly grew until it hit a flashpoint on Jan 14 2021 when the Beavers were routed by Arizona 98-64. This was the moment of validation, some said the Beavers wouldn't win another game the rest of the season, now is the time: Fire Him. Fair enough. WT got his chance. Time to move on. What happened next was the most improbable series of events that shook the CBB world: the Beaver team galvanized and shocked the conference by winning the Pac12 MBB tournament, thus getting an invite to March Madness. The WT doubters were stunned but not silenced. "Beavers got lucky by UCLA missing a free throw." That theme still lives. The thought process was: "The Beavers will get bounced outta the NCAA and we can still fire him." Cue up the magical Cinderella run that nobody could have predicted. It was devine. The march to the Elite 8 both silenced the doubters and proved them wrong. It embarrassed them, esp on social media and chat boards. That embarrassment was magnified because they were forced to endure the Pac12 championship and the NCAA run and couldn't root for the Beavers because it proved them wrong. That embarrassment lives today and it explains the angst. It is time to fire WT. Let's get on with it so all the naysayers can say: "I told you so". When he does get fired, I will look forward to hiring a new coach but I will also say thank you for the greatest season in modern day OSU MBB history. It's the best I've ever felt about Beaver basketball. Get on with it. When I read the headline, I believed it. I liked the hire. I also got a chance to listen to him roaming the parking lots before football games. I’ll stick with what I e said for years now, condensed. Thank you Coach Stepped in at a rough time Done all you are able to do here Need a change to try to move forward Good luck down the road

You litter this board with so much false info you have to be a troll seeking attention you don't get elsewhere. Check out his Orange Army board, there's literally one poster on it...

tomorrow? I'd take today. Scott Barnes met the team on the tarmac at Mahlon Sweet at 1 AM today and relieved Tinkle on the spot. Interim coach is Eric Reveno. Another loser of a coach, couldn't do anything at UP and hasn't done squat coaching the big men in his short time in Corvallis. Wipe the slate clean.

Short list for new MBB head coach Gary Payton Roberto Nelson Lester Connor Gary Payton II Tim Shelton Mike Chefesky, Shisheski, Kresewski….That guy that used to coach Duke. If Bill Bellacheck, Billysheck, Bellishick, that guy that used to coach the Patriots, can do it, so can he.

You’re not bringing in the next Mike Chachefsky in the middle of the season.

You’re not bringing in the next Mike Chachefsky in the middle of the season. No, you simply cut bait and let an athletic department employee run the show. It can't get any worse.
