This is what happens when your athletic program is financially destitute. Not making Fisch a priority is absolutely a boneheaded move that they will regret for a long time, especially in a tumultuous period of moving to a new conference.

We've got enough in the QB room for now. I'd rather target several of the UW guys... OG, DB, TEs.

Now Huskies are claiming Fisch is better DeBoer? Who do you think is the better coach? Hard to argue after what DeBoer did this year but unless about 15 starters from AZ follow him Husky football could still be ugly next year.
Fisch still feels like a short turn run cycle for Washington. Give him two years there.

Fisch did an outstanding job turning around an absolute dumpster fire almost overnight, but he's going to have a different deck stacked against him at UW. And they are not going to be as patient as the fans in Tucson.

No one with any brains stays at a future Big 12 school when an opportunity like Washington arises. Without Texas and Oklahoma the Big 12 will be the worst of the four power conferences next year, by a wide margin. The Big Ten (18) will be pretty darn good.

Arizona coaches are going to faint when they see the cost of housing on the Eastside. And when they have to battle traffic across the 520 bridge every day.

Good little run Arizona...back to the bottom you go That gigantic Athletic Department budget deficit will bury them even deeper. That was a shortage of cash on hand for the entire University, it was not an Athletic Department budget deficit. It’s really not as a big of a deal as it was portrayed in the media.

Good little run Arizona...back to the bottom you go That gigantic Athletic Department budget deficit will bury them even deeper. It's not a deficit, and it is not limited to the Athletic Department. It is that the entire university missed their budget projection. Now, they do not have as much cash-on-hand as they are "required" to by Arizona State law. It is not a deficit. They still have a surplus. They just do not have as much of a surplus as they are supposed to have. As for the lack of a surplus, the delta between what Arizona is required to have and what they have dwarfs the entire athletic department, i.e. you could eliminate all costs from the athletic department for an entire year and still not get Arizona back above their cash-on-hand "requirement."

The budget issue is somewhere north of 175million from earlier rorting.
