The budget issue is somewhere north of 175million from earlier rorting. The number is $240 million last that I saw. The athletic department instituted a hiring freeze and, once the new golf center is completed, the athletic department cannot spend any more money on new construction projects. There seems to be some shenanigans going on there. Arizona's CFO, Lisa Rulney, was supposed to be fired but instead appears to be in a new created-for-her position. The media down here does not appear to want to dig into it, but it sure seems like there is probably a lot more fire with all of the smoke.

The AD borrowed $55 million from the university during the pandemic and the university says they’re not paying it back fast enough, but they’re trying to place most of the blame for the total deficit on the AD, but that’s not true. We had to borrow a considerable chunk from the university during the pandemic as well.

One of the articles I read on the azcentral site a few weeks ago had a faculty member suggesting that UA turn over (sell?) the Athletic Department to a private contractor. Interesting idea…😐
