Five of the six WSU coaches before Kyle Smith never returned to head coaching after leaving there. Why is that? Tony Bennett took a promotion and upgraded. Kyle Smith will too. That's 2 promotions. What coach did that with the OSU job? Ritchie saw his obit being written and got out while he could. He was lucky. Well, Craig took a job(s) in the coaching realm that is definitely a promotion. Your arguments make zero sense. Especially when you ignore facts others present. But, we get it... over and over... WT stays cuz past coaching hires sucked. And, that if we did look no one would want the job.

Not what I said. There are young hungry coaches out there looking for a chance, but they won't take the OSU MBB job because it's one of the worst jobs in college basketball AND it's a graveyard job. Look: 3 of the last 5 OSU MBB coaches never returned to head coaching again after getting fired. Why is that? Five of the six WSU coaches before Kyle Smith never returned to head coaching after leaving there. Why is that? Ernie was considered to be a great coach by many before and when WSU hired him. There were several Beaver fans that posted "now were really screwed" type of messages when he was hired there. Some schools can be hard on coaches, even good ones.

I’m not one to bash Tinkle, because we CAN’T “do better” under present salary considerations, unless we just got REALLY lucky with some young up-and-comer. To me, Tinkle is here for AT LEAST two more seasons. Not a bad coach. Not great, either. A good man who WANTS to be here. Right now…… that’s golden to me.
