If our entire AD was dependent on CFP berths OSU would be in trouble. But, next year and after is no different than years past... CFP $ go to the conference and OSU has survived with one berth (this is the 2nd) since the inception. And none of course was OSU. So, the $ would be a boon in a two team conference, not required to survive. Now, if you want to talk to a media deal being essential... Our AD is dependent on our football program. And our football program is, indeed, dependent on the HOPE of getting to the CFP (or rather, it will be starting next year). Just like it has always been dependent on the HOPE of getting to the Rose Bowl/BCS/NY6. We don't need to do it very often, or even at all, but we need that possibility there to keep attracting quality players and coaches, as well as fans. We absolutely need some element of hope for truly great achievements on a national level, to continue to operate and fund as a P5 school with national aspirations in many of our sports. I was simply responding to the comment that eliminating that hope for non-P4 teams will also eliminate that hope for us, and that hope is indeed what Barnes is betting the football program on, and by extension our entire athletic department. That's the first thing he mentions about our strategy going forward, is our unique "path to the CFP". "Unique path" in no ways states we're dependent on any actual berth. As stated, it never has been. A CFB berth, if it ever happens on our path is a one-time bonus and still split with WSU. OSU (and WSU) needs a media deal... sustained, known revenue. The Pac2 also needs to hope that the NCAA and CFP committee keeps our conference CFP payout as a P5 conference. The max a berth this year's would be $8.74 mil most split with WSU. The 12 team payouts have not been determined, but a berth isn't going to sustain the AD... it'd be a nice "bonus".

The 12 team payouts have not been determined, but a berth isn't going to sustain the AD... it'd be a nice "bonus". I was saying that last year's expenses number was $2.74 million. The expenses number this year is apparently $2.85 million. The Pac-2 is set to receive $79 million next year plus $8.85+ million, if either team qualifies for the 12-team CFP, and an additional $6.85+ million, if both teams qualify. The Pac-2 would receive the $300K APR bonus per team, as well, on top of the other numbers. On top of that, the Pac-2 will receive its $36.5 million payout from the Rose Bowl next year. The CFP contract is going to have to be reconfigured after the current deal runs out. It will not be nothing, but it will probably not be the $119.1+ million per year that the Pac-12 was enjoying before the other 10 teams left.

Ha Ha - to be honest, I did not know the reference, and had to Google it. You could choose to look at it that way - or simply compare where both went to school, their grades and place in class upon graduation, accomplishments in life, and yes - MMPI results.
We all look through different lenses, and apply different standards to life. And we all have blind spots. Kinda like the soft Christian bigotry in this thread, hiding behind legitimate criticism of Liberty. I am sure the posters on this thread do not see it that way - fine. Unlike others, I am not calling for the doxing or shadow banning of anything

Unlike others, I am not calling for the doxing or shadow banning of anything OK. I personally would prefer not to even touch on politics on this site, and won't do unless some else goes first. I get enough of that nonsense elsewhere. I will just leave it at that. Have a nice evening.
