Only proves that the Ducks can beat a cup cake . This should garner them no respect or a top ten seating in the pre season rankings next season . This may as well have been the Kraft mac and Cheese Bowl . Wonder how much Uncle Phil paid for Liberty yeah I'm sure Uncle Phil paid top dollar for that abomination of a bowl matchup ...  |

Thats what I am saying . The final score in the Sun Bowl may not show it but Oregon State made Notre Dame earn every point I think the lower tiered schools should in ineligible from New Years Day bowl games regardless of record. I think you will see a have verses have not tier of bowls in the future. Strength of schedule should matter a lot not just the season record. Liberty is a prime example. Tulane won its game last year as the G6 rep. You start making certain leagues ineligible for the top games and they no longer have incentive to invest and improve. What if we go 11-1 next year, should we be ineligible because the P2/WMC hybrid is an "lower-tiered" league? The problem this year was the MWC, MAC and AAC were down a bit and that opened the door for the CUSA champ. The Fiesta Bowl had the last choice of opponent among the eligible schools after the automatic tie-ins were filled. Nobody wanted Liberty and that's why you had a terrible game at a half-filled stadium. The upper deck looked empty. |
