Trying not to think evil thoughts being that it is the Yuletide, but may they all rot in hell (or the equivalent).
Now to go meditate in order to lower my blood pressure after reading that story. Think happy thoughts.

Well…… THAT was depressing. We’ll have a Merry Christmas despite. Hope y’all do too.

Cauce is an appalling dung heap, overflowing with the most disgraceful assortment of rubbish imaginable, mangled up in tangled-up knots. Cohen destroyed the Pac-12 and then jumped ship to USC 17 days later. Cohen seemed to play Hermann Göring to Cauce's Hitler throughout. Interesting to see Canadian trash, Michigan's President Santa Ono, and Illinois' Chancellor, Robert J. Jones, play their parts in this whole thing. It is curious that they were the two people that Cauce reached out to the day before she destroyed the Pac-12.

Sounds to me like Cauce was locked into her way of thinking from the get-go.
She was/is probably very vested in in the Conference's failure. I doubt she wants the conference to survive and prove her wrong.
Even a "weakened" rebuilding conference surviving would embarrass her to some extent. Probably why UW led the way on the lawsuits... she probably just spent millions (after legal fees and this settlement) to try to deal the conference a death blow.

Well, that was pretty effing depressing.
“Open and transparent,” my ass—The UW President was playing both sides of the street.
Blowing up the traditions and achievements of a 100+ year conference meant next to nothing to her-or to the rest of them, which just pisses me off no end.
And yet, I am optimistic that we will be happier in the long run. Not having to deal with these people very often (or at all)is a good start.

Which speaks to her sound judgment and sterling character. 🙄🙄🙄

I can't believe that Cohen, a San Diego State grad, would have played as big in a roll in all of this. Of course, then she went to USC 17 days later to collect her 30 pieces of silver.

What was apparent all along. UW and O were joined at the hip, spoke out of both sides of their mouths and quack stabbed the conference in the final minutes of making a deal with Apple.
Cauce was clearly not acting on her fiduciary duties as conference chair, had conflicted interests, and did not honor her own promise to alert all members if there was ever a point where her responsibilities' to UW conflicted with her representing the conferences best interest.
She clearly was negligent in both. Scholz was her sock puppet in the act.

I guess I can understand some angst/anger at those mentioned. But, none of their deceit was possible without the media $ being made available.
Yes, they could have turned it down. The conference could have bargained with ESPN. However the situation was set up only because of additional media dollars made available.
The B10 wasn't going to divvy up their current shares. The same with the B12. No additional media $, none of this happens no matter how much any of them wanted it.
The root of all this... the CFP, conference realignment, etc is media $. Well, and the lack of any institutional leadership, control, forethought, and integrity on the NCAA's part for decades!

Also, all of this makes it clear that Washington was driving the bus. Oregon only left, because Cauce and Cohen decided to.

I, probably foolishly, also looked at the 250 or comments to the article, so that you don’t have to. 😒
The key takeaways were:
1. (Mostly) HAHA, we’re going to the B10 and gonna make $$$.
2. College football is broken, but we got ours.
3. College admins are arrogant and stupid (or is it stupid and arrogant?)
4. Good riddance ito Oregon State and Washington State, who displayed their own arrogance in demanding an equal share when they were a multi-decade drag on conference finances. Oh, and it’s wrong to claim that UW and oregon blew up the Apple deal at the last minute—that’s a false narrative put out by OSU/WSU.
Needless to say, the comment takeaways were infuriating, especially that last set.
However, they should be careful what they wish for-they might get it good and hard.
As I noted before I think we might be better off without them. We’ll be finding out.
