I thought RB’s 5th was a dive initially but on the replay Rae definitely knocked the JSU player over. The defender initiated contact and then flopped. The same thing Pac-12 players were doing against Beers last season. She kept using her arm to clear them and then cleaned it up but kept on getting hit with those calls. Believe what you want. Didn’t look like a flop to me. Depends on how orange your lenses are I guess.

Overall, I think this was a really good game for OSU as far as getting some experience against a pretty relentless Jackson State team.

Depends on how orange your lenses are I guess. Orange lenses have nothing to do with it. Nor is Beers my favorite player or anything like that (I don't have one). I used to officiate basketball (lower levels, of course). I'm very picky about how I see things being called. That doesn't mean I think I'm always right about each and every call. But I'm not convinced that women's basketball gets the cream of the crop to officiate, let's just say that.

Solid win over a scrappy Jackson St. team. They put a lot of defensive pressure on us and we handled it well---it was a good tuneup for the pressure we'll see come Pac-12 time. My player of the game was Timea G.---what a ferocious rebounder she has turned into and also a polished offensive threat inside and outside---I think she should be starting in AJ's spot. Nothing against AJ---she is playing well but TG is just better. A frontline of Reagan, Kelsey, and Timea would be and is formidable and would stack up well against any frontline in the country I think. Honorable mentions for players of the game go to Kennedie, Talia, Kelsey, and Dominika who all had very solid games. Dom may not be the best on defense but she really makes things happen on offense when she is in there and is both a good passer and shooter. Kennedie was just outstanding with her overall game both offense and defense and ball-handling against Jacksons pressure---only thing she hasn't shown us yet is an outside shot. I thought she outplayed DH today and may be taking more of DH's minutes as we move forward. DH was ok but she doesn't have any confidence in her outside shot and it showed today. AJ was solid with her shot from about 12ft in but her 3 pt attempts were not pretty. Lily had a bunch of open 3's but bricked them all except for one late in the game---I think DP should be getting more of her minutes. Reagan was fine while she was in there but once again had to sit on the bench for extended minutes due to foul trouble---She needs to clean that up and stay on the floor for us to be competitive in the Pac-12.

What’s going on with Blacklock? From starter at the end of the year last season to dnp in a 20 pt win at home? Is she hurt?

Last year, we only scored 63 against them, shooting 31.3% from the floor, 23.8% on 3's, and 64% on free throws. This year's team scores the ball much better. Note we also outrebounded them by 13; this year we're averaging close to + 19 on the boards. This year, 45.2% from the floor, 29.2% from 3, and 75% free throws, thus scoring 15 more than last year.

Beers might have 3 fouls if this was a Pac12 game. She needs to quit reaching, and going over the top. If she starts to get a rep for offensive fouls (3 tonight), they'll call them on her all year long.

Sometime around early 2nd quarter, Lily was defending 1 on 3 and blocked the layup. Hope to see a highlight with that!

Why isn't Adlee Blacklock getting minutes? I like Lily but 1-6 with a TO, give half (or more) of those minutes to Blacklock who can knock down the three ball.

At this point, I have to disagree about Timea starting over AJ. Many times in the last couple of years, when Scott would have to substitute, I wondered where we were going to go to get points. With Timea coming in off the bench, he's able to pretty much have 2 of his 3 bigs ( TG, KR, RB) on the floor at all times, and those 3 are racking up a lot of points and a lot of rebounds. It's a wonderful thing to have a '6th man' like Timea. I hope she continues there and relishes her role. This team thus far seems to always look pretty comfortable on the floor, and it is not just one or two people carrying the load. Different players are stepping up every night. Our backcourt players in particular look more comfortable and smooth than I've seen in a long time. They're rounding into shape nicely.

Angel Jackson zero points, 4 fouls with less than 5 minutes to play. I'm not sure why folks made a big deal on her being on this team. She's never been elite other than being 6'6". She was like a 4/3 player at SC and last I saw like 7/8 "ish". She's not an offensive threat. She missed layups routinely as did the rest of her team.

I suspect it's her defense holding her back but she deserves a shot. Maybe a medical issue? I suspect Martha is sitting while the Oregon girls are getting minutes at the point trying to get them up to speed. Kennedie is showing that she is deserving of the time and more. She is both quick and fast, one play she ended up with the ball after starting from the other side of the court. Went by two teammates and three opponents to get the lose ball. And again showed the ability to finish through contact. Don't get me wrong, I like Donovyn's game. She is steady, wish her shot was better. No idea how she had gone this far with her funky release. Once again whoever wasn't on the court was sitting next to Aleah getting coached.

Went after the ball on rebounds, not waiting for it to come down as many do. Noticed it right away when she came from the freethrow line and grabbed a defensive board. She played a beautiful game.
