Rawlings Perfect Game thinks there are three clear candidates to be first of the board in the '24 draft. Nick Kurt 1B Wake Forrest Travis Bazzana 2B Oregon State JJ Wetherholt 2B West Virginia
This is what the had to say about our boy, Bazz !
"Bazzana not only has a chance to become the first Australian to get drafted in the first round, but he has a good shot to go first overall. The Oregon State middle infielder features an advanced hit tool that has consistently produced at every place he’s been at, including a .340/.463/.549 slash-line during his first two years in Corvallis. A simple swing turns the barrel hard and features advanced bat to ball skills, resulting in hard contact to all fields. There’s some sneaky power present that can pound both gaps and drive balls over the wall. The bat is one of the best in all of college baseball and could carry Bazzana to the first overall selection with another dominant year"
Rutschman for sure. Bazzana maybe.
Unbelievable !!!

Yep. Pitching is going to determine how far we go this year. Pitching is always the determiner. Pitching will indeed be key. Maturity on the mound will potentially be at a high level. I count ten ( 10) Junior and Senior pitchers on the roster, including additions from Cal Poly, Arizona, LBCC, Feather River CC *, and PLU/redshirt. Plus.... last years freshman arms played important roles. Like many Beaver fans...Surprise is in my thoughts, daily. 77 days from this minute, Game #1 will have concluded. *Bridger Holmes, outstanding at Feather River and he had a great 2023 WCL summer [25 ip / 37 SO / 13 BB / 1.09 whip]

Electric arms who could all be getting soe big innings this spring.

MLB.com says Bazzana has a good chance to be first the player taken in the MLB Amateur Draft. Plus grades for hitting, speed, makeup, power potential with average ML arm. Good quote here;
"First and foremost, I want to win a national championship," Bazzana said. "I think we're going to have a really strong squad at Oregon State. We always put up a lot of wins and get a chance in the playoffs. I think playing a leadership role and bringing together a good group of guys to make a run in Omaha is something that we hold ourselves to and are excited about. So hopefully, if I do that, I think the other things will fall into place."
Additionally, MLB.com has Turley ranked as the 8th best prospect in the 2025 draft with potential to move up if he can improve in hitting the secondary stuff.

Well, if I can guess/memory serves partially correct TB would be the first 1/1 drafted as a 2B??
A dozen+ SS, handful of 3B, and couple 1B... never a player listed as a 2B.
