I remember at least one person here, when Lily arrived "she needs to get in the weight room and bulk up" or similar. Well, this photo shows , next to Talia, not much change in that area but, don't care. In the last couple games she has fallen backwards after making 3s and I've noticed in both cases there was a defender right on her. I don't know if that is a cause and effect but she is getting more daring and taking 3s with defenders close it seems, happy to see that. /photo/1 Great photo A snapshot of sherrod's nightmare! I bet she is happy to not have to face the Beavs in 2 weeks

My first guess is that Lily takes all her shifts in the weight room.... But, as we all know, weight room cannot muscle up what you don't got....
My second guess is that Lily is already quite muscular - pound for pound.
What she needs is weight gain - then she can somewhat bulk up for next year.
But slender, even skinny, kids at 20 often stay that way for 5 - 10 years no matter what their diet and their weight room regimen.
She's tough, she takes pounding and pushing well, and she's fairly basketball strong....
My third guess is that Rueck is much more concerned with Lily learning to better attack the basket off the dribble than he is with her weight. Because when she adds that to her game she is in breakthrough territory... If she learns to slice and dice and attack the rim, she and Hunter could next year be a national level backcourt duo... Hate to be thinking about next year when it's only February of this year, but it's hard not to when your mantra is "player development."
I don't have a very good track record for predicting the development of this year's team. In December, on my most optimistic day, I never dreamed that Hunter and Hansford could possibly be the Players they now are in February....
One of the many benefits of being a Beaver fan!!! GO BEAVS!!

This is historic - the first time Germany has ever qualified for the Olympics in WBB.
Marie starts next to the Sabally sisters. She averaged 7.3 ppg, 6 rpg (3 offensive per game!), 2.7 apg.
Only 12 teams make it to Paris. Puerto Rico will be one of them ... of course, with Ali Gibson.

Kat never was a big threat from inside the arc. Freshman year she was 58/144 overall with a % of .403 Three points were 49/119 with a % of .412 So she was 9/25 inside the arc Sophmore year overall 125/287 for .436 85/206 from three. 40/81 from inside the arc Junior year 52/112 overall .464 40/86 from three .465 12/26 from inside the arc Senior year 68/194 overall .351 54/156 from three .346 14/38 from inside the arc I don't have the numbers but I seem to remember Kat pulling up for 2 point shots more than going all the way to the hoop. Unfortunately we will never know how Kat would have progressed since the ncaa decided she shouldn't get the replacment year.

Kat started driving to the hoop before her knee injury and teams had to be aware that she would put the ball on the floor and drive. She also got to the free throw lime more frequently than other shooters. It also gave her a little bit more room for the three. Plus I never said she was a big threat inside the arc.

Kat had 2 years where she got to the line with any frequency. As a freshman 6/8 As a Sophmore she shot 59/72 this most on the team behind Marie at 121 and Mik at 115 Junior she was injured only shoot 16/19 Senior year she was 44/56 for 4th most on the team. Unfortunately we will never know how good she would have been. Even her senior year wasn't indicative, she was never really 100% after her acl injury. To small of a sample to make any assumptions in her freshman and even in her junior year. I'm sure she drove to the basket more in her sophomore year just because she got to play more but she never had the ability to develop into a consistent threat.
