Ron seems like a good guy, and there are worse out there. But sheesh, you could switch out softball or soccer with his questions. Not a single question specific to basketball as a game. I remember watching a broadcast game at Utah and the local announcers were talking about the difference between their defenses and I thought "wow, they know what a zone is".

Are you going to change your defense since you don't have a top/tall shot blocking post this season?
Your players are talking about speeding up the offense, do you anticipate that also?
Adlee hasn't been getting many minutes, is she healthy?
Heide has a history of injuries, are you limiting her playing time to try to keep her healthy?
AJ was wearing a boot at the beginning of the season, is she 100% now?
Yepes is red-shirted this year. What things are you getting her to work on in the hopes of her playing next year?
Stuff like that.

Every good soccer player I know developed amazing leg strength. That's where she gets that fast first step. Relax for a second and she is by you. Also helps in finishing through contact.

So true about soccer players. I coached my daughter's City League basketball team which were mostly High School Club Soccer players during their off-season. They won the City League 3 of 4 High School Years. Soccer players have outstanding feet, and are incredible at anticipating. Both Kennedie & Donovyn played soccer. Kennedie was first team all-state. Kennedie & Donovyn move their feet so well and both have great peripheral vision. Watching Kennedie defend Lucy Olson/Villanova was so impressive. First rule of defending is not let your opponent catch the ball. Lucy Olson had a difficult time shaking Kennedie, and then Kennedie was able to fight over screens, which kept Lucy from rising up for a shot. You just don't see this from freshman.

A great argument for kids playing multiple sports, and not just focusing on one.

Soccer players' lungs also help them excel in basketball. They're runners.

Stuff like that. Those are good questions. I know this probably sounds sarcastic but it’s not. If you can get a hold of Ron‘s email it might be worth shooting those suggested questions over to him. You might be surprised to see one or more of them come up in his next Rueck interview.

You're not going to get much of a response on questions regarding; playing time or injuries!
