nwhoop fan mentioned part of this on the Villanova thread, but two of OSU’s non-conference opponents had solid wins tonight: - Villanova won 66-63 over No. 22 Marquette - Texas Tech was 71-63 over No. 24 Iowa State

We had the most votes of non ranked teams so that put us at #26 this week.

Interesting to see all of the state of Oregon / Oregon State connections on the Lisa Leslie Top 10 list:
Mackenzie Holmes, Indiana Ayoka Lee, Kansas State Raegan Beers, Oregon State Kamilla Cardoso, South Carolina Cameron Brink, Stanford Sedona Prince, TCU Taylor Jones, Texas Lauren Betts, UCLA Desi-Rae Young, UNLV Elizabeth Kitley, Virginia Tech
Go Raegan! Win that award!
Go Beavers!

TVO said on the show that she is not done as a Beaver. She implied that she is not going anywhere. That is not the person she sees in the mirror. Having her so committed to the program increases the chance that everybody stays. What a classy person, you'd be hard pressed to find a better team leader. She said that this year she has embraced the defensive end of the court. I think that as the leader the rest of the team follows suit.

She is basically the face of OSU athletics, as captured in the video they show on broadcasts and on the board at games. You will recall when Taylor, Kennedy, and Greta bailed, she very publicly said she wasn't going anywhere. Now she's said it again. I am positive that she, AJ, Sela, and Kelsey will be here for their final year next season, and that she'll try her damnedest to convince the freshmen and sophomores to do likewise - if they need any convincing. Talia represents everything good about our program. In that respect, she is the most important player we've had since Mik.

I didn't think she would leave but I've been wrong with other players before. I really appreciate that she reconfirmed it. There is at least one other player that I'd bet the house on returning. Between the two there is an excellent chance the rest will stay as well.

The only players I feel "certain" about returning are Talia (stated so), AJ (her family relocated to Oregon and her brother is a student at OSU, Donovyn and Kennedie (Oregon kids who stated playing in front of family was important to their decision to committ). The rest, I just hope for the best but feel good about it because they see they can win here and the program is gaining a national presence again.
