Breaking: Iowa Women's Basketball head coach Lisa Bluder has announced her retirement. Bluder led Iowa to the national championship game the past two seasons. Rueck to Iowa? Hope not. must be tough to go back to a mediocre squad

With where college athletics is headed I can see a ton of 55+ coaches saying "eff it"!

I don't know if there's another thread about OSU players and the WNBA. Wiese was waived by the Sun today. Seems like she just can't get her foot back in the door. Too bad.

She waited this long to resign so the Hawkeyes would not really have any alternative but to hire the assistant coach.

must be tough to go back to a mediocre squad When was the last time they were mediocre? Been a long time. Bluder was fielding competitive teams long before Clark showed up. I confess ignorance. I should have said back to normalcy for Iowa basketball. Of, course what you said about her tenure would be great normalcy for ANY beaver sport.

Agreed, will be different without Clark, but she had a very good tenure at Iowa for 20+ years.

Benchwarmers has been a hangout for WBB players for a number of years. The last and only time I was in that building it was a Ruby Tuesday restaurant. It's a decent place. Pub food and fairly-priced beer, and lots of tables. Plus they are open past 10, which many places in Corvallis aren't. Saw Noelle Mannen there last year on graduation night, she was feeling no pain.
