I don't think we're going to beat ND. With the financial separation of the very top schools from the other 98%, I'm starting to think the Sweet 16 might be our (and a lot of other team's) ceiling. I don't think I can agree with you on that, at least not yet. Right now, we have a state of the art locker room, and a beautiful new practice facility. We have a head coach who is very well respected, as is his coaching staff, and is content with his salary and living in Corvallis. And we have a team boasting 5 top 100 recruits, 2 of whom were McDonald's All Americans, and another who would have been save for covid. Going forward, it could be harder to recruit top recruits, but that's an unknown for now. In any event, we're not playing Notre Dame's 2026 team; we're playing this one. They happen to be very shorthanded, playing only 6 of late. There are numerous scenarios I can envision where we beat them. Lack of funds within the program is not a problem; we already have really good stuff in facilities, coaching staff, and fan base. The big concern would be that we don't play a strong enough schedule to get national recognition, and we become a 26 win 7 seed. It is unknown how that will be addressed. Right now, though, we all need to focus on just one thing - beating Notre Dame. We've won tournament games we weren't supposed to - Baylor in Texas to go to the final four? Tennessee at Tennessee to end their 57 game home winning streak in the NCAA tournament? I'm sure Scott has found a way to sneak those into conversations with the team this week. Let's play the game and see what happens.

No, we are not playing Notre Dame's 2026 team. I hope we win today. But it's becoming pretty clear it's going to become much harder from programs not in the SEC and not in the Big Ten to keep up financially. And if you can't keep up financially, you can't keep up competitively.

Story on Dono and Kennedie. There are a lot of signs that both of these young women will continue to be Beavers in the future. If so they will keep us competitive at a high level.

Happy to admit I was wrong! Take your best shots!
I still think it's going to be even harder to get this far in the future as the money differential grows.
Timea Gardner proved she was worth the stars she got in recruiting.

Granted next year would be Talia & AJ's final...but imagine Dono in the 2026 - 2027 Season as a Senior !! It stretches the mind.

It's been pretty cool to see European FIBA starts that I noticed when scouting Pietsch and Paurova. Garzon and Citron were stars in those FIBA games, and they are the the NCAA level as well.
