I don't think we're going to beat ND.
With the financial separation of the very top schools from the other 98%, I'm starting to think the Sweet 16 might be our (and a lot of other team's) ceiling.

Either way, want to lay a wager on what 25-50% (lower end of OSU wins) of the conversation will focus on??

I think last year's FF with SDSU and FAU was a total outlier.

I think last year's FF with SDSU and FAU was a total outlier. I do think it will continually get harder, especially if the Beavs can't find a major conference to be a part of. For the women though, if they can keep this core group two more years, with a couple additions they should be sweet sixteen or better while Raegan, Timea and company are here. As tight as this group is, there still may be defectors in this current NIL/ 'grass is greener' transfer portal era.

"I don't think we're going to beat ND." With Watson out (their post) it seems odd to think OSU won't beat them. ND will have to double up on Beers so the rest of the team will have open shots. Hitting those shots at an average rate and continuing to defend at an average that is only second to S. Carolina in the tourney then OSU wins. Could a ND go crazy hitting shots and win them the game? Sure, that's why the games are played. But all things being equal I see the Beav's finding out how good S. Caro. really is. What does the "financial separation" mean in women's basketball? Out of the top five programs, Texas, UConn, SCaro, LSU, and Stanford, only LSU is getting the moola. Maybe as more people follow Women's Basketball things will change, but not so far.

Out of the top five programs, Texas, UConn, SCaro, LSU, and Stanford, only LSU is getting the moola. Maybe as more people follow Women's Basketball things will change, but not so far. "Financial separation" matters because when programs in two leagues are getting $70-90 million in TV/CFP rights, and teams in every other league are getting half (or less) as much, some of those added millions are going to support programs other than football. That's why the SEC is so good now in almost every sport. You can't spend everything on football. Those added millions have filtered down to enhance volleyball, softball, men's/women's basketball, baseball, etc. When the Big Ten's new TV contract kicks in, all of their programs will prosper. The Va. Tech WBB coach is going to Kentucky, for twice the salary. That's a direct result of "financial separation" between the ACC and the SEC. Texas, LSU, South Carolina and Stanford are four of the richest schools, support-wise, in Division I. UConn is the outlier, living on the success it enjoyed before big, big money hit college athletics. UConn also hasn't won a national title since 2016 and won't win this year either.
