Starts were off. She is 5/5 and 1/1 free throws as it shows on stats as shows 4:34 to go You know what, you must be referring to Shuler and I was talking about TVO, that's why the numbers weren't jiving. 😆 🤣 😂 Right you are. Makes a lot of sense when I swap the players. Sorry about the confusion

I wonder what’s wrong with Adlee or what’s the reason she’s not playing. She came in for like 1:00 and hasn’t played since. With all of the good players we have it's hard for everyone to get minutes, but I thought Coach did a good job of getting everyone decent minutes tonight. The players that aren't getting minutes have to be ready to play hard and shine when they do get the chance. This will earn them more minutes in future games---A perfect example of this is KS---after her solid last 2 games she was rewarded with 13 min. tonight and went 5-5 from the floor and scored 11pts. Adlee only got 8 min. tonight but she impressed with a nice 3 and 2 ice assists---look for her minutes to increase next game. Sela Heide finally got PT tonight and yes she is slow and foul prone (4 in 8 min.) but she showed good hands for a big and showed she can score down low---If both our bigs are in foul trouble she showed she can hold her own out there. Dom got 13 min. tonight and didn't score but she flashed her elite speed again and had 3 nice assists so despite not scoring I felt she played well enough and showed again that she can play with anyone at anytime when called upon. Martha got 15 min. tonight which was nice to see---she had a nice bucket and ran the point effectively although her 3 TO's will probably not gain her any minutes next game but hopefully she will get another chance to show her skills. The rest of the team all looked really good but I just wanted to focus on the lessor used bench players tonight and give them their due!

Martha seems too unwilling to shoot, too unwilling to finish drives to the basket. She passed up some nice shots tonight. I think Donovyn and Kennedie are going to continue to pick up minutes at her expense.
I didn't think Kelsey looked very good tonight, but she did in the other 2 games, so I'll just call it one of those things. I think Scott likes the idea of being able to bring in Timea to spell both Raegan and Kelsey (who wouldn't?), and I think those three are going to wind up playing 25 to 30 minutes per game, with Raegan getting the 30.
UC Davis was clearly outmatched, but it is worth noting that we outrebounded them 53-32. Average through the 3 games is a margin of 17.

I used to give the Duckies a hard time about keeping Ionescu in blowouts until she got her triple doubles. But you look at the publicity and the players that came their way for those triple doubles and it makes me scratch my head about whether SR should keep Beers in games to make sure she gets her double doubles.
Martha didn't have a great game individually but the offense ran better when she was in there because she was willing to direct the traffic. When Hunter is the PG the offense tends to become a bunch of folks standing around looking at each other. I don't know if Hunter isn't comfortable yelling at folks or if she doesn't know the offense well enough to tell people what to do.
Per minute Beers is currently the #1 rebounder in the country.
Gardiner and Beers are becoming the scoring/rebounding dominators I was hoping for. I really think they have the possibility of becoming the top front court in the country. Now if the guards can keep hitting the three so that the other teams can't just pack the inside......

DH 23 to MP 15 minutes DH 0 to MP 3 turnovers DH 6 to MP 1 rebounds DH 5 to MP 2 points Donovyn gets the ball up the court faster and is better at taking care of it. I'd like to see the +/- on the two.

My take was the offense slowed down when Pietsch was in. She did too much aimless dribbling. And swinging the ball around the perimeter without ever really trying to do anything. Hunter and Shuler dribble like they are trying to get somewhere. Pietsch doesn't to my eye. She can't break down her defender, and she doesn't look to shoot from the perimeter. So you have a defense that can just sit back and comfortably stay on their primary assignment, rather than having to move around and shift. When Hunter or Shuler attack on the drive, they are either going to get to the rim, or a help defender has to come over. Which leaves somebody else wide open.

I'd like to see the +/- on the two. Hunter was + 12, Martha was +21. Despite Hunter having the better stats the team was scoring better when Martha was in the game. Partially because Martha was yelling at folks to move their asses instead of just standing there staring at her. Hunter not so much. The good PG's are the floor generals, telling folks what to do. Right now that is Martha. And yes she does end up dribbling around some, but that's to go get her teams attention to what they are supposed to be doing. I don't think Hunter is comfortable in that role yet.

I can't remember where the +/- is posted.
There is a reason Donovyn is the starter after the first game. I think she will start the rest of the season. Interesting that your view is the opposite of mine. I see the offense as being significantly quicker/faster with Donovyn. It is a good thing that kennedie can play the 2/3 because of not Martha would have all she can handle to keep the #2 point guard position. Both of the Oregon girls are better on defense.

In no situation is Martha the better option at PH then Dono. The +\- in the last game doesn’t change that fact.

Watched the game again last night, and I completely get what beaveragain was saying. Martha much more played the role of floor general than Dono or Kennedie, and was very verbal in getting the team into position, running plays, etc. Martha could run the team, especially if she was surrounded by experienced scorers. She also has the big disadvantage of being short and as Dono and Kennedie gain experience and learn the SR system, they'll be a step ahead just in size alone. I think the good news is that all three have shown they can help this team, and step in when needed. Now, are we surprised that Adlee is seeing so few minutes? This is a team member who started at the end of last season, averaged double figures the last few games, and shot over .500 from three down the stretch. It's not a mild surprise, it's a big surprise. I thought for sure she would be in the top 7-8 in the rotation. The year is young. It's good to see so many players getting minutes. Lily, three games, zero turnovers. I noticed this late last season as well that she doesn't rack up the TO's. Part of this is because she doesn't handle the ball that much, but it also confirms SR's comments about her being a smart player. Back to that discussion on PG's, TVO hasn't been playing PG, but she has directed a lot of the action. You could see this a lot against Villanova, but also in this game. She's doing a good job of driving to the hoop and dishing, although against Villanova, she did it a bit too much, and they caught on. Good to see her driving to the hoop though, and although her shots still aren't falling as they did in the past, you can almost feel her offensive game returning.....I sure hope that is true, because that would be a big boost to the team.

from this angle you really see the power and accuracy of that pass, nice Adlee ! Yes, I know, one handed, long passes are frowned upon.
