Also, the 10 are unlikely to win an appeal. And filing an appeal does not change today's ruling, so OSU and WSU are the voting committee as of now and will be unless they lose an appeal.

Assuming there will be appeals after today, the Pac-2 should see it through to the end. Short term stuff will no doubt be difficult to deal with but it will be worth it in the long run. We don't have time to "see it through to the end". We need to know the Pac-12 assets and liabilities now. We need to know our standing in fhe CFP now. We need to know what can and will be done with the Pac-12 network and other workings of the Pac-12 now. We need to let our coaches and athletes know the path for the future NOW. The football transfer portal opens right after the CFP announcement in early December. It only stays open for 30 days, I believe. If we do not have a clear path forward and a clear idea of our budget for paying coaches by then, the players will have little choice but to put their names into the portal. They can't just let the 30 days go by and then find out that OSU has no conference, no games next season, and no budget to pay coaches. None of that is likely true, but the players can't assume the best and then find out the worst. They need to take care of themselves, and we (OSU) need to be able to give them hard facts ASAP...not after an appeals court and supreme court and everything else that could drag this out. The traitorous 10 knows this, of course. It seems to me that they are in no big hurry and will force OSU and WSU to negotiate from a position of weakness due to our very tight timeline. We will know what the assets are and the liabilities now that we are the 'board'; I suspect that we may know by the end of the week to be honest... In fact, we know that assets/liabilities from last year's IRS annual filing: as of June 2022 P12 had about $120m in total assets (include $67m in gross fixed assets) and $76m in liabilities. We know there is the comcast liability and that will be taken out of distributions. Including in these assets is an archive of P12 sports and Rose Bowl media at book value - as I understand it, these are the property of the conference not the individual schools so if the other 10 want them they are going to have to pay... I also have to believe that we have a plan in place on the future direction of the P12; most likely a re-build with west coast schools. Probably MWC schools, Ganzaga, others - this has probably been discussed with those involved at a high level and details will need to be worked out AND I'm sure, now that it is a bit more clear, these plans have been (or will be) conveyed to everyone in our athletic department...

I agree entirely. OSU/WSU know what the next move is, both with control and without control of the board, and all roads are pointing to scheduling out with the MWC and whatever else we can find. Every OSU fans needs to be prepared that we are independent next year. That is a very likely scenario. Hell it is still most likely even if we rapidly put the court case to bed. I still don't think B12 is entirely off the table, but it is fairly long odds.

Should the UW lawyer be a special guest of AD Barnes for the game Saturday?

Anyone know how to access the recording of todays hearing? No. You obviously must want to listen to it too. I am (was?) at a trade show today, but pretty slow. From recollection, FTD had the link, which I pulled up and listened to in my booth. It was interesting (but kinda slow) to listen in, at least for as well as a person can with an iPhone. When it came to judge’s comments it was harder to hear anything. I was glad to have the reporting from others to help connect the missing dots. We are all so hugely invested in our school(s) not getting screwed by “the traitorous 10”…

I have been puzzled that no one in the upper reaches of Washington government hasn't called a halt to this foolishness. Either one taxpayer supported university is going to get half the jackpot or two taxpayer supported universities in Washington are each going to get 1/12. Even a Husky grad should be able to do that math.

Even a Husky grad should be able to do that math. The 800lb gorilla is UW is in massive debt and losing money fast. The debt service on their 2012 stadium expansion is about to balloon to $18 million a year. This year and next they project total losses of around $15 million. That is going to swell to over $20million by 2026 if something doesn't change and they are about to need to lay out big bucks for Deboer. They are money grubbing because they desperately need to be.

"the call on the field is that Pac 12 has two voting members" they will need incontrovertible evidence to overturn.
Regardless of whether the various appellate courts are headed by UW alums, judges are usually not predisposed to overturn other judges rulings capriciously. I don't see how the facts would support a stay or a ruling that obviates today's ruling.
I think a deal will be brokered soon, and we won't get everything we want, but it will still be substantial. We won the battle, but the war is still very much in doubt. How we parlay today is going to be interesting...I'm still holding out hope on a longshot invite, though I concede that is not likely.

Yeah, I remember seeing something along those same lines after the first court date, but I don’t ever remember seeing anything that showed OSU/WSU trying to withhold any money that would have been given to the other’s for these services during this season. I’m not sure how anyone could see them as victims in all of this.
