Love him or hate him, he was a legend and could really chuck a chair Was just wondering about him the other day. When a personality like that is silent for an extended period of time it’s usually not good news. He was a very successful coach with a very impressive W/L record. May he RIP. |

Nope. This POS deserves whatever eternal hellfire awaits him. Just one entry in a long list of abuse: March 2000 — Is investigated by university after former player Neil Reed says Knight choked him at a practice in 1997. A videotape of the practice appears to support Reed. Reports surface of other confrontations. In one, Knight throws a vase at a university secretary. In another, Knight's son Tim suffered a dislocated shoulder and a broken nose during a scuffle with his father during a hunting trip. Knight endowed both a history and law chair at Indiana. He raised nearly $5 million for the Indiana University library system. He raised more than $300,000.00 for the Coach Knight Library Fund at Texas Tech.
Not my favorite person in the entire world but far from my least favorite.

He could be a real prick, but there are many stories of things he has done for his ex- players without any fanfare |

My “harsh” judgement of Knight stems from Indiana relatives of mine who have known Knight (a few professionally) for decades. Some deify him to this day, while others were subject to, and witnessed the childish, hateful scorched earth rants of a man who could be affable and friendly IF one agreed with him about EVERYTHING and the opposite if one disagreed on ANYTHING.
He handled people ….. players, staff, etc…. to elevate himself. They were simply pawns.
POS, in my book.
