Interesting article written by a guy in Chicago, of all things: www.kerryeggers.com/stories/how-the-pac-12-bust-up-will-effect-the-city-of-corvallis?mc_cid=013983c706&mc_eid=8e7ade9249I am left with questions he barely raises at the end of the piece.... Are Boise State / Colorado State / Utah State fans more or less likely to travel to Corvallis than UCLA/Cal/... fans? Are they more or less well-heeled? Will fewer OSU fans travel for those games? But a good piece on the economic impacts to Corvallis, and what beneficial service we fund today (Visit Corvallis) might be adversely impacted. (Note - didn't know exactly which sub-board to put this in....)Go Beavers!

Boise State will bring more fans for one game than UCLA, the Arizonas, Stanford, Cal and Colorado do combined. The visitor's section is a ghost town when we play those guys.
Boise State's band is bigger than the number of traveling fans from the Arizonas.

Boise State's band is bigger than the number of traveling fans from the Arizonas. And, that is a no brainer. You can actually reduce some of the pricing for visitor tix and still make far more money than with the Pac12 opponents. Only Oregon, Utah, and UW (when they are good) travel real well, followed by WSU. The rest are simply nonexistent as far as making any money or being a factor in Reser.

Werebeaver, best be cautious. For a board that is associated with UNIVERSITY sports, it seems disconcerting how many think that proper grammar and spelling has any relevance.

Lol... it's NOT associated in any way. This is a forum of multiple message boards with no connection to the UNIVERSITY. Vocabulary choice is also relevant 🤔🤣

“This is a forum of multiple message boards with no connection to the UNIVERSITY“ Without the university this forum wouldn’t exist. Hence the two entities are associated and connected. This is a statement of fact and your trolling doesn’t change that.

This is a statement of fact and your trolling doesn’t change that. It's "about", not "associated with"... no matter how you want to make up definitions and statements of fact. Just as some Reddit board about... a Toyota... has zero association with the company. Because it wouldn't exist has zero to do with association. Try calling this "The Oregon State University Sports Board" and see just how far that "association" gets you.
