Found this interesting. AAC 16 teams
AAC original member $7Mx 8=56M AAC new members $2Mx 6= 12M AAC total $68M/14 teams = avg. $4.85M per school with equal distribution. (similar to MWC shorter contract) Plus AAC schools have to pay to produce all ESPN+ content(20+ football games this year plus most Olympic sports will be on espn+) This contract is until 2032 and it will actually net less after production costs vs the MWC deal that gets to be renegotiated in 2026.

This is dragging on forever. Time is running out to make schedules. And if the ACC for some odd reason doesn't take these three, we'll have to wait again while Stanford figures out another Plan B. And reading Cal message boards, their fans are delusional on their worth...so they may not even be a part of anything new. It literally took two weeks to put together the first Pac-12 schedules in 2010. This process can take 4-5 months and still work out great. If we are painting Easter eggs/watching Final Four basketball, though, without a conference, it may be time to start panicking.

One meeting... said company (ex- Apple) has done their research and puts together their package. You meet with ?? and present to the decision makers. They accept. You then call the MWC commish and tell her the details and begin the merger's (which was in the beginning stages) final stages as the deal is ok'd by the affected schools. Easy peasy🫣

It took the Big 12 and ESPN about 45 days, maybe fewer.

How long to put together a TV deal? It took the Big 12 and ESPN 46 days, maybe fewer. And they have broadcast TV schedules to contend with. None of that is an obstacle for streaming services.

It would be nice to have the expansion/merger and media deals wrapped up in the next 60-65 days. After that, you can still expand/merge, but it is hard to get the media people to focus in November and December.

So...if you had your way, what would the Beavers' future look like when expansion and media deals are done and signed?

So...if you had your way, what would the Beavers' future look like when expansion and media deals are done and signed? Depends on what California, SMU, and Stanford do. If they all go to the ACC, a conference of Charlotte, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Memphis, Rice, Tulane, South Florida, and UTSA puts us in several of the nation's largest media markets and provides most teams with natural rivals with the possible. If SMU does not join the ACC, you might trade SMU and Rice in the foregoing list. If California and Stanford does not join the ACC, I have heard chatter that the Big 12 may invite California, Oregon State, and Stanford with either San Diego State or Wazzu to make 20. I hope that the media contract is in the $15-$20 million range. Oregon State may be able to count on an additional $30 million per year, if California and Stanford don't get a share of the leftover Pac-12 money. There may be some additional soft money that Oregon State can heap onto that pot, but this still can work out pretty good, if things break right.
