for me
Football - we have a great coaching staff and are a team on a big time rise and have a really nice stadium/facilities Baseball - Relevant every year in the national discussion. Need to keep it that way Women's hoops - Struggled a bit as of late, but still in the discussion of NCAA tourney on a regular basis Men's hoops I am from the Orange Express era. Tinkle makes more than Mark Few (If I googled correctly)
Of course Football spends the most and generates the most.

Wrestling has it's own money. Gymnastics is a solid program.
Title IX is going to become an issue if both football and baseball continue which they should.

Wrestling may have its own money & do a good job raising funds, it needs to be in a conference with 5 wrestling teams to earn Ncaa individual bids. I am guessing they will end up in the Big12 in wrestling

Now, take away almost all the money you have and pick 2. The other 2 go away

Like I said above, if you want football and baseball then you will have to have gymnastics and volleyball plus softball and/or track and cross country. A lack of funds absolutely do not change Title IX.

I'm most concerned for men's soccer after all this mess.

I'm most concerned for men's soccer after all this mess. Yea, it sucks for these student athletes that work just as hard to be a D1 athlete as football players. OSU is going to have to make some tough decisions in its AD.......and the machine that is "big boy" college football doesn't give one s%#t!

I'm most concerned for men's soccer after all this mess. Only UCLA and Washington have teams of the teams that are leaving. San Diego State already plays in the Pac-12. Air Force, San Jose State, and UNLV have soccer teams that play in the WAC. If there is a Mountain West - Pac-12 merger, you get to at least six, as long as you take two of those teams.

My concern was if there would be programs getting cut, men's soccer would be the first to go in order to remain Title IX compliant afterwards.

The last time I looked OSU can not cut any sport to remain D1. It could have been updated, but the last time I looked, among other articles a school had to offer (16) varsity sports to remain a D1 institution. It can be (8) Men's and Women's or like OSU (7) Men's and (9) Women's. Typically there is a higher number of Women's offerings to balance the Title IX scholarships offering due to football having 85. Schools that do not offer football can more easily offer an equal amount of varsity sports for men and women. So, any budget cuts would be AD wide and not involve elimination of a sport.

All FBS teams are required to field 16 teams, and Oregon State is at the bare minimum of 16.

I think cutting expensive men's sports and adding cheap men's sports is pretty common. Hence, Colorado has a ski team but no baseballlllll team.
