Hail Mary of Hail Marys... of course, who knows who the 8 are? uo, UW, Stnfd, Cal, UA, ASU, Utah, and If UA does go to the Big12 alone... Well... not sure it is a "hail Mary" we'd want?! The ACC is locked into what is considered a terrible long term deal. And, having (3) divisions with (22) total teams would be a nightmare. ACC Coastal, ACC Atlantic, ACC Pacific would be sort of cool, but the logistics of scheduling, balance, and equity in payouts would be tough. Unless ESPN was going to up the ante considerably OSU couldn't afford the travel for just the (4) major sports, let alone be competitive for postseason play on a regular basis. Although SOS and RPI type info would look good. On a side note... MBB might be in an embarrassing position with a 18-20 game conference schedule in that situation. WBB is maybe a bit better equipped. Baseball... it would definitely depend on the rotation each season, as it could be a VERY tough schedule. But, ESPN hasn't budged on improving the current ACC contract and FSU for one is looking to leave, so I do not see them ponying up significant $ for (8) additional teams. And, for those who clamor about the mistake USC and UCLA made and how the travel would be atrocious, this would be worse. I believe any ACC idea has always included the idea of divisions. But if UO and UW leave, it's probably moot. ACC wouldn't want to anchor the West Coast division around Utah, Stanford, or even us. Of course...if they wanted to beat the Big 12 at their own game, they could ask us to take on SDSU and Gonzaga and start building up b-ball chops.

The OSU Board of Regents should probably announce a spur of the moment meeting so everyone, especially the youtubers from Big 12 country, knows OSU is part of the "in" crowd. Ours is a board of trustees. "Regents" is a term rooted in older, monarchal systems. While, yes, they essentially do the same things as another school's regents, the choice of name "Board of Trustees" was made after much consideration of what words mean, and was not by accident. By use of "trustee" we are stating that the work our board does is in the public trust - not given to a group to be merely rulers.

Canzano was on the Dan Patrick show this morning talking about where the situation stands with the conference as of now: I have a really hard time believing the AZ schools give a flying rat's arse about what Oregon is going to do. If anything, they're probably peeved that even if the PAC stays together, OR would always be looking out the window. There's also, I don't know, no media deal? At least of any consequence. AZ regents are meeting tonight, my bet is this is all backwards. Oregon is waiting to see what AZ/ASU does. If both AZ/ASU bolt at their meeting, OR/WA are gone.

If OR/WA get an offer from the Big 10 they're gone regardless of what the AZ schools do. And, frankly, they'd be stupid NOT to bolt to the Big 10 with the current condition of the Pac-9-and shrinking.

Why would the BIG members want to divide up revenue with two additional schools that likely do not bring in enough new value to make it a neutral deal, meaning current member schools stand to lose some revenue to add them. I suppose the BIG could lowball an offer sensing desperation. But seriously what does the BIG stand to gain other than another long road trip?

Figured you might be able to summarize. Guess not. Why don’t you summarize it for your self. Thought you’d know how to click a link. Guess not.

Canzano's point on Oregon was they may decide that they have better access to the CFP by staying in the PAC-12 than taking a reduced payment from the Big 10 - and that Phil Knight's focus is on the CFP. He then said if Oregon stays, UW stays - and that the AZ schools would follow suit. Whether he's right, who knows, but that's the summary.

Also reading that USC does not want any more Pac-12 schools in the Big Ten, that the SoCal schools were promised they would have the West Coast all to themselves. They don't want to leave a conference, only to end up playing two or four schools from the conference they just left.
They did not get it in writing. Which might not have even mattered, considering what a bunch of backstabbers college conference administrators are these days.

Sorry I bothered to expect a little more effort in the post. But to each his own. I don't think Canzano has any information that hasn't already been hashed over and rehashed, so I'll take a pass.
