Thamel just tweeted ore and Washington in talks again with Big 10. Oregon wants to stay in pac to get easier path to playoffs. But I guess Washington has some huge debt issues coming up driving towards the big 10 now. Oregon does not care as much about the money side but won’t stay without Washington. Stay tuned. Very fluid right now. What I don't get is why Oregon is so "besties forever" with Washington. Washington gone in theory makes the road to a conference championship even easier. |

Washington doesn't want to be viewed as the school that killed the conference. Oregon and Knight don't care, they only care about themselves and their inflated sense of worth.

The Ducks want to be Florida State back in the day. Go undefeated in a middling conference every year and always be in the national hunt.
They don't want to be Boise State in the WAC. Go undefeated in a crap conference and be best known for making a trick play work.
They need the Pac to be credible, with at least a couple decent teams.

This will be a day that will forever live in infamy. I’ve never had much respect for hole, but they are now dead to me. What they have done is beyond the pale. OSU should never schedule any competition with that POS school. We must win the conference this year. And remember that the last civil war will be played in Reser next year. I say break protocol and don’t allocate them any seats. f%#* them.

Well, Utah can kind of play I guess. And what about that team down in Corallis that ran the ball down their throats last year?
UW could be a flash in the pan, based on Penix. Several bad or mediocre seasons prior. My money on sustained excellence is on Utah so long as they have Wittingham.
Oh, I forgot to mention there is another team out of Boise that may well end up in the conference that Oregon has never beaten, ever. Boise State is 3-0 against them.

And, honestly one has to just chuckle at some posters. I mean throughout the year in every sport inevitably the "hate the Pac12" posts come out. They screw OSU teams somehow, someway. It is and has been poorly run, dumb arse commissioners, officials, etc. etc. etc. So, if the B10 had come knocking on OSU's door with an initial partial share of $35-40 mil/per to jump ship... I'm betting 95% of the opponent haters would be completely on board with OSU leaving the inept Pac12, 10, 9, ??. Travel and weather would be handled,and it is not OSU's responsibility to take care of the conference, etc. etc. etc. Add, that going to the MWC is a catastrophe or death knell, yet we must add teams from said MWC to keep said inept, horribly run, bias to OSU Pac 9, 10, ?? conference alive and kicking!? Yeah makes complete sense. |

Unfortunately they actually chose a much tougher path to ever make the playoffs. I wish they had done the easier route and stayed. They're even more delusional than I thought if they think they're ever making the playoffs in THAT stacked conference lol |
