I get the feeling it might be a hard sell to the Presidents. The kids would likely be missing 3 days of classes for some road games. I suspect basketball kinda does that already at times and somehow it survives. Being the only college football on national TV two nights a week sounds intriguing though.

I’d assume that the kids are probably enrolled in online classes, at least during the season. I’m not sure missing classes is the worry as it used to be now that so much is done online now. My daughter’s in person classes do a lot online now as well.

This is what the MAC does on Wednesday nights. Are we the MAC West Conference now? I could see this happening if expansion to 16 teams happened. Utilizing paired teams to take a BYE in the same week and place the teams on a Tuesday or Wednesday night. I would put Tier 2 games on Tuesday or Wednesday night and leave Tier 1 and 3 for Saturdays. Tier 1 primetime on Saturdays, Tier 3 like UC Davis for OSU on a streaming platform. This is what Kliavkoff is hinting at it would seem. They are trying to find ways to think outside the box.

If it makes us much more money as a conference…I’m in support of it. Didn’t we have games on Thursdays on ESPN in the past? Great exposure

I know tv runs the show but if you think the stadium looks empty on an 8pm start on a Saturday wait til its 8 pm on a Tuesday. When I see espn carrying a game on a Tuesday or Wednesday I think minor league. Definitely not power 5.

The guy who tweeted it out is from Big 12 country so consider the source.

The guy who tweeted it out is from Big 12 country so consider the source. Agreed. I've read some of his stuff before and he's just another midwestern voice that is hostile to the Pac 10. They're a dime a dozen in this particular era.

Well, Kliavkoff already made a fool of himself at the media day. His statement. paraphrased, that they weren't going to announce the media deal here to keep the focus on football lead all who listened and read to believe there was a deal in place. When pressed on it he then backtracked and stated, "I wouldn't read too much into that." Better or worse than Scott? Not sure that really matters at this point as he answers to the same group who allowed Scott to waste millions of dollars. It falls directly on the university Presidents and if the next media deal falls short, and/or is mostly streaming the exodus from the conference will soon follow. There are several Pac10 schools that can not afford a smaller cut, nor be on the back burner as a streaming entity. There are some AD's that must be in a state of stress right now.

If the deal was really $12 million less, with 20% linear, don't you think Colorado and Arizona would've walked already?
Given the source, who hates the PAC-X, I'm not surprised. Maybe it's the second tier of games after Apple takes the big bite. Then that might make sense.

Maybe it's the second tier of games after Apple takes the big bite. Then that might make sense. There is no way anyone knows at this point that the deal is $12 million less. Just for accounting purposes no one knows, it isn't even clear what all is included in the big12's number. Does it include bowl game and cfp revenue??? Who knows. Anyone claiming an exact figure like $12 million less is lying, don't listen to them.
