Ryan Brown 16th round to Oakland. Good for him, hope he enjoys Las Vegas. Or maybe Portland?

Ryan Brown 16th round to Oakland. Good for him, hope he enjoys Las Vegas. Or maybe Portland? Good team to go to, they have such a dearth of talent that he can zoom up through the ranks Again surprised to see him go this late. I knew he would be late 2nd day or early third day, didn't expect LATE third day

Looking at the Padres signing tracker from 2022, they selected 4 high school guys in the 11th to 20th rounds. Only signed 1 of them. So, no guarantees what happens with Lais. They may just be trying to save up money to get their 12th round guy, Blake Dickerson, enough to sign. He was ranked #158. If they pick a bunch more high schoolers, I think Lais could still end up on campus. Oops, I can't edit this. It's not accurate though, what I was looking at wasn't up to date with the late signings. They only failed to sign one of those guys. So...he may be gone. Probably have our Lais answer here....

Mikey Kane, 17th Round to Chicago White Sox. Well, there you go. Good luck Mikey I hope you have tremendous success!! The draft tracker has no slot signing bonus this late... is there not at least some minimum? Hopefully he gets a little something. I would still love to see him come back, but I am also excited for him to continue his quest to the major leagues! Go Kane! Go Beavs!

Still no McDowell or Kasper drafted! Having them back would be great for our outfield!
Also Ferrer and Sellers not drafted either... With the draft going from 40 rounds to 20 I guess this isn't that surprising. They will definitely be picked up as UDFAs

There is no slot after 10th round....and there is no minimum either. But for players in rounds 11-20, the amount that won't count towards teams' bonus pool is $150,000 this year...so basically, that is the Max, unless they saved money against their pool - which several do - in Rounds 1-10 in order to allow them to go over $150k

Not bad! How about for UDFAs like potentially Ferrer or Sellers, do they get signing bonuses? Can Caraway still be approached as a UDFA?

It is not a huge amount, but MiLB salaries are not even close to just $500/month. The new agreement assured huge wage increases that can be paid out thru a calendar year and typically only included 6-8 months of contractual time. Players in the complex leagues will go from making a minimum of $4,800 per year to $19,800 a year. The minimum salary for players in Low-A will go from $11,000 to $26,200. High-A salaries will jump from $11,000 to $27,300. Double-A salaries will go from $13,800 to $30,250. In most cases all MiLB players get free housing, which many will share and pocket the difference. The also get a road per diem, used to be $25/day, for food. Home stands typically do not include a per diem, and long bus rides are mostly fiction as most lower level teams are in close proximity. Most upper levels have travel stipulations that travel over (PCL used to be 500) miles mist be done by air. Bottom line, it's far better than a minimum wage, 40+ hour a week gig, and far better than what most college players get while at school. It's a decently paid "internship" for an opportunity to reach a dream for many. I have never heard too many complain unless they realize they've reached their peak and the dream is gone. Then MiLB can become a dreary "job". Like any other job can become. Minimum wage in Oregon, currently around $15 an hour would be $31,200 a year. But, for a full year or 40 hr work weeks. Most MiLB are under contracted time of 6-9 months.

Same $150k max for undrafted guys not counting against the pool. In 2022, UDFA were capped at $20K, but that rule changed to $125k last year and moved up to $150k this year like rounds 11-20
