She was a huge disappointment during her 4-year career at OSU as she was never medically cleared to play basketball. Now, she's making the most of it with the West Adelaide Bearcats. This clip shows her dominating the game with 22 points and a nice block at the end. Rueck knew what he had when he recruited the 6 foot 9 center out of New Jersey as the #7 ranked player in nation in 2018. The Beaver WBB team was definitely robbed. In 2022, local writers said her career was over and she'd get into coaching. Looks like a Doctor medically cleared her for takeoff and she's showing us what we missed. Good for her!

Look at the 3pt shot, the footwork, the VandeWeghe stepback. Complete player that because she didn't play, altered OSU win totals and NCAA appearances. Stanford WBB woulda had their hands plenty full with AA.

Many of us have been watching her playing clips for months. bennyshouse.com/thread/20118/aquino-playGlad she is getting to play a game she clearly loves. Bummer she didn't get cleared and play for the Beavers.

Saw her last at a Philomath high school game in February. Too bad she wasn’t cleared at osu,but I’m happy for her to be able to play the game she loves elsewhere.

There's a WBB player at the U of Montana that went through a similar plight starting at Arizona St, then Washington St. She was cleared to play at UM and did reasonably well last year considering she had two years of inactivity. Once you get a diagnosis of some sort of heart disease (whether it's right or wrong), you're pretty must anathema to insurance companies.

She started off strong but her numbers have tailed off a little in recent games. Not surprising for someone who’s playing her first competitive season of basketball in many years. She’s adjusting to a lot of changes. I hope her basketball journey continues on an upward trend and that she has good doctors and that she’s listening to them. Love ya Andrea.

She’s adjusting to a lot of changes. I hope her basketball journey continues on an upward trend and that she has good doctors and that she’s listening to them. Love ya Andrea. And, I'll add... Andrea was never a major disappointment to 99.9% of Beaver Nation. Her HS ranking, like most is generally BS and doesn't equate to what her college potential/career would be. It is complete speculation to say she would have been a great player at OSU or At this time she is playing what amounts to "club" hoops, far below D1 level as far as OSU, Furd, etc. And her numbers are not great. BUT, she gets to play a game she obviously loves and that's what matters. As stated above I hope she is completely medically cleared and it's not just a difference in medical protocols between countries. Either way, she's made the choice to play and seems to be truly enjoying herself when you view the videos. Her not being able to play was a bummer for the fan base, but it was in her best interest according to those that knew best. Andrea was far more than just a WBB player. She was a model teammate, student, and citizen... far removed from being a disappointment of any kind.

I have a couple of friends confined to wheelchairs and as I've pushed them in and out of buildings throughout Corvallis it seems like most of the time Andrea was there holding the door for us. She is a kind, warm person, always looking to help others. We miss our doorman but are very happy she is finally getting to do what she loves so much.

She was not a disappointment, far from it. It was disappointing she couldn't play.

In her time at OSU I never heard anything from her teammates or coaches that would indicate she was a disappointment. Far from it, she was described as a great teammate. Always there at practices, always willing to rebound for other players practicing, having an amazing attitude especially considering her situation.
To say she was a disappointment is far from the truth.

So you have the highest ranked WBB recruit in OSU history, who was on the team for 4 years and never played, and that results in no disappointment? That is a truly a testament to the positivity of this board and its ability to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I do see that one person said she was not a disappointment, only it was disappointing she couldn't play, so I'll take that as partial agreement. No doubt Andrea handled it well. I'm glad to see her get to play again.

I'm glad to see her get to play again. Your original post labeled her personally as a “huge disappointment”. Your words, not mine. Speaking just for myself, Andrea never disappointed me. And as welcome as it is to see her compete on her Australian club level team I don’t see that performance over a 12 game sample set (12 ppg, .5 apg, 9 rpg, 1.5 bpg, 36% fg, 56% ft) as particularly exceptional or dominant. Looking forward to seeing continued growth in her abilities and her overall game.

You included the word "personally". I never used that word. If you have to misquote me, you're creating your own bogus narrative. Her playing career was disappointing. I stand by that.
