Because no other starter has been effective at all in 3 weeks? Keljo's max has been 46 pitches. And why squander your best lefty on a start, when he can throw multiple relief appearances? Because a relief appearance when we are already losing 8-3 isn't all that great I'm just being a pain in the ass of course....but I truly don't trust anyone in the staff right now and it seems like based on Mitch's comments, that Ferrer is in the pen, so based on what I've seen lately, in my opinion, Keljo would be my personal #2 option to start behind Sellers...I could probably be argued to #3 behind Lattery too, but that's it. |

What about Thorsteinson in a starting role hasn't pitched much but has been pretty effective.

Just guessing like everyone else but we sure need a couple a guys to step up and shut down a few teams. Have my fingers crossed on Sellers. Sellers keeping the ball down and landing his breaking ball looks like he could beat anyone. Beyond Sellers we are really looking to pull some magic out of the hat. My guesses are the 3 Frosh, Keljo, Mejia and Jimenez.

My guesses are the 3 Frosh, Keljo, Mejia and Jimenez. Sellers has been a slow starter, which is the problem. He always struggles early, and most of the time he finds his groove and mows them down. But the start can be scary. Probably worse for the coaches, though. I feel confident that he's had a good amount of rest so he should be ready to throw his best. We'll need it. I'm hoping he shines now in the tournament. I think if Ferrer and Sellers can manage a couple wins for us, we can throw pitchers at the opponent every couple of innings if need be. It all counts on starting strong and reserving our arms. It's Omaha or bust! |
