Predictions? Preferences?
I’m going Ferrer, Kmatz, Sellers, Lattery.
Ferrer game 1 - best pitcher when on IMO. Have to win game 1. Also, this would allow the possibility of Ferrer coming out of the pen in a win or go home game later in the regional (assuming we don’t go 0-2).
Kmatz game 2 - whether this is vs LSU in winner’s bracket or an elimination game, I’m starting the most experienced and reliable starter on the staff.
Sellers game 3 - if this is an elimination game, I’m starting Sellers on a short leash with Lattery ready to take over early. If we’re 2-0 at this point, I’m starting Sellers on a short leash, but saving Lattery for potential game 4.
After any of these scenarios play out, we’d just be throwing out whoever is left.
This is my preference more than a prediction, but Ferrer, Kmatz, Sellers was the rotation to end the season so I also see this being likely.

Can't really afford short leashes, if game three is an elimination game. I am still thinking that rain comes in and makes a mess of any plan anyway. Oregon State has arms for days. And humidity will keep everything in.

They both have had a lot of rest and we don’t have a lot of wiggle room. Game three might be Lattery or Ferrer, depending upon the matchups and if we’ve needed to use Ferrer to get a W. By the end of the regional, opponents will be scratching the bottom of their pitching barrel, so Johnny Allstaff might suffice.

Kmatz second. Sellers gets Sunday. Lattery, if necessary Monday. Weather or losses may cause a recalibration of the plan.

It had something to do with it. Without humidity, breaking balls do not break as much. Without any fireballer, that is a problem. Dark, cold, and humid FTW.

Depends if Kmatz can go. Parker alluded to Kmatz was not going to pitch in the Pac-12 tourney due to an injury.

I'd start Sellers vs Sam Houston and win that....then Keljo vs LSU....then Kmatz, then Lattery then whoever is left.....Ferrer stays in pen to help when needed and maybe start Monday night for the W

One thing is pretty clear. We can't go in there and just throw FB. We have throw breaking balls or change ups. Kmatz has a fighting chance if he can land some junk. Otherwise he gets hit. Ferrer is pretty damn good if his slider is working down low. Keljo will be great if he can throw a great slider or change. Maybe he can be this years Kevin Abel. Seller has to keep the ball down and he has really had problems trying to do that.
I would go with Ferrer against LSU. Kmatz on day one. Sellers on day three if we get there.
