My current firm has a lot of rooting interest but do not really care what happens West of Texas. My new firm is the firm I was at before my current firm. And the Arizona office is a pretty pro-Arizona State firm. And I will tell you that my new boss and her husband already gave me s*@t for how the Beavers did today. So, it still would have been nice, if Oregon State had won. But it was also nice to be able to turn off baseball after the game ended. |

Lol... so one dugout doesn't believe? Guess the entire theory of "float with them" didn't apply last night? So far today? I'm pretty sure... positive both dugouts in college baseball believe... as a team and individuals. Or else they'd not be at this level. Too bad your philosophies don't hold. As I believe that every swing on the golf course will have a positive result! 🙄 Did you ever learn about what Kwan was dealing with while he was a Beaver? You should. Then you'll start to appreciate that at a certain level of ability, the defining character is mental toughness. Your golf game? Hell, I've heard you have a hard time getting anything into a hole. Do you ever make any sense? Kwan? Mental toughness? And those have what to do with my post? Some old man illogical connection? We scored 22 runs, had 30 hits, committed 2 errors. Zero wins. Our offense was good enough, defense was good enough. But when you give up 27 runs and 40 hits you aren't going to win. Does it matter much that we didn't win? The real question is how hard do you want to go to win the Pac 12 tournament which has little payoff. Think about it. In Arizona. Right before the much more important regionals. How hard do you want to go for the win? 100%? Risk injury and exhaustion for what? Go into the regionals limping? We tried that last year. And... ta da... we won the Regional... and almost the Super. Osu limp in anywhere except in your crotchety old mind! Jeezuz dude... every team in a major conference did the same yet OSU just couldn't take it? 🤪 |

At least we made it interesting. Fun (or not so fun) facts: -ASU scored in double digits all four games against OSU this year, averaging 12 runs per game. -The pitcher that started the game for ASU, with an ERA over 7, struck out 6 of the first 11 OSU batters. -10 of the first 18 batters for ASU reached base. -ASU hit three triples against one OSU pitcher over three innings. -11 OSU pitchers threw 18 innings and gave up 40 hits and 27 runs, but UA and ASU still managed to leave 20 runners on base. - 35% (14 of 40) of the opponent's hits were for extra bases. WOW! That's just unbelievable. That's bad pitching at a new level, how did we ever end up 2nd in the PAC12? It's done so I don't have watch the pac tournament any more. Not quite sure how they turn their game faces on after getting dominated this week. Where will they go for a regional?, can't see them being at home but who knows. |

Well if you understand/practice the concepts of yin (tenkan) and yang (irimi) in Aikido you should be able to see how your initial post really has zero to do with topic that was being presented. The OP originally comparing the national champs of '22 (Ole Miss) to the current OSU team based solely on their records, or in Ole Miss's case a record worse than the '23 OSU team. Then following up that with he'll go with the team that believes over the one with talent. I thought it laughable that a known CWS winner was being compared to a OSU team who could not win a game it is own conference tourney just because of the records. My point being that both dugouts/teams believe they will succeed. That both teams and every player in both dugouts "believe" or they would not be D1 players. And, since OSU lost both this week it doesn't mean they didn't believe. Kwan's individual story and supporting a team has very little to do with that specific discussion. However, you immediately posted a seemingly angry reply (then another) about Kwan's journey and understanding the players we support. I'm not sure if you practice modern or Yoshinkan(?), but in either the practice of irimi is supposed to help you develop "Hara". And in many posts you practice neither balance or groundedness! As isn't the primary goal in the practice to overcome one's self? And,, to not promote violence or aggression?? |
