I dislike this phrase when applied to athletes, but I kept saying it about Caitlan throughout the game - especially during those last 4 "what pressure?" free throws: "What a machine."
She's in a league of her own. If not, who's in it with her..... -------------------------------

There's just the little problem that she's barely played in any games the last 2 seasons while Clark has been busy scorching everybody.

Yes I remember that game....We were 4-0 going into that game with high hopes of an upset but Bendu and Noelle shot a combined 4-21 and 0-7 from 3 and we lost by 14. If those 2 could have just shot a so-so 37% and canned a couple of those 3's we could have beat that team!

Yeah and IF... Iowa would have shot their season averages, Clark isn't 2/8 from 3, and Iowa goes to the line at their season averages it was a rout! But, I suppose the "what if" crowd could even go further with the "... if we play them later when Timea was ready and Beers played more than 16 minutes..."
Tongue in cheek? I hope... one team is playing for the NC, the other finished 11th n a 12 tam league. If a, would a, could a... NOPE... Play 10 times OSU would lose 10 times.

So you "keeping it real" is that no matter how many times OSU played a team they would always lose? That's not "keeping it real", that's living in an odd fantasy land.

Yeah, Chaminade could never beat Virginia, FDU could never beat Purdue, UMBC could never beat Virginia, St. Peter's could never beat Kentucky, Murray State and Purdue back-to-back, etc.

The topic was Iowa... so yep, (10) games... Iowa wins them all. But, I'd gladly be wrong. You play in what ever "reality" you want.

I did not realize my thinking on a (10) game series was the same as "never" Funny how those trying to make a salient point, don't! But, as the initial reply was to the "what if" crowd, which is not reality, as is a (10) game in-season series. So, in the "what if" scenario, I'll stick with Iowa 10-0 assuming no unforeseen "fantasy" injuries, etc. PS- since we were in the WBB realm maybe better examples would have been: #16 Princeton over #1 Furd* (1998)? But, unlike the Men's tournament and in general, huge upsets in WBB are far less frequent. Hence in the NCAA no #15 or #14 seeds have ever won a game. The closest #2 vs #15 upset was actually 2017 OSU vs LB State, 56-55. But there have been (7) #13 over #4, the latest in 2021 Wright State over Arkansas. *Even this result is skewed as many felt Furd should have never been a top seed as they lost two of their best players, Vanessa Nygaard vs OSU in the last regular season game. The injury was not full diagnosed as an ACL before the seeding. And, in a practice before the first tourney game, leading scorer and rebounder Kristin Folkl tore her ACL.

LSU average 5 made 3s per game. They have 9 at halftime. 7 of them from bench players who have done literally nothing in the Tourney before today. Great coaching, or awfully damn lucky today?
