If Czinano can contain Angel Reese, I believe the game is over.

I didn't think Iowa had any chance to win. Big kudos to them!
So we played both teams in the Finals - I wonder if we've ever done that before?

Any dibs on what Mulkey will be wearing on Sunday? No doubt something even more hideous.

I was really impressed with Iowa. They look and play like a team that's been playing together for three years. Their role players play their role well, Czinano finishes everything inside, and Clark is a superstar.
South Carolina's lack of outside shooting was really the difference in the game. Made it very difficult to get open looks for their post players. Dawn Staley accumulated a really impressive collection of talent, but they're really lacking a shooter or two.

Yep - and that included a 24% shooter going 3-6 from 3s in this game, although clearly a better shooter when left unguarded.

At one point they showed a replay yesterday of Clark waving off the opposing player on the 3 pt line, mocking her as if to say "you aren't a threat". Then Johnson made a couple 3s, made it interesting, luckily they have a weakness. I like having new teams in the finals once in awhile. Now we wait, Boston has another year of eligility if she wants it. I'm too lazy to see how many of the starters for both teams have any left. It was a wakeup call to realize Clark is only in her 3rd year !

Agree 100%. The Iowa coach is masterful in utilizing the unbelievable skills that Clark brings to the team...She rarely dribbles into trouble; the post-players are superbly trained at pick & roll, (and so is Clark); the offensive sets are rarely cluttered and congested.
I'm totally impressed with the Iowa coach. Maximizing a super-star is not easy. Clark has a collection of skilled teammates; they are coached to let Clark showcase her skills, but in turn, because she is a premiere passer and sees the court like a pro, her teammates get open shots and access to the offensive boards they'd never get without Clark drawing all the defensive attention.
Count me a big fan of Coach and Star. -------------- Sidebar: Does anyone out there know of any college WBB player (ever) who can do what Clark can do? I don't - but I've only been following WBB for 10 - 12 years. It's worth remembering that South Carolina is probably the toughest, most physical, and best coached defensive team in the country. The exhibition Clark put on display last night was not against some mediocre team - it was against a genuine powerhouse..... GO BEAVS!!!!

Really great observation of how well the Iowa teammates play in synch with their superstar. Very often not the case when a superstar is on a team that the remainder of the team plays so well along with that superstar. That is what makes this Iowa team amazing to me. I just think OSU is a quality ball handling guard away from having a great year (barring injury). I'm sure the team is watching and telling themselves they can play with these teams in the final four. Excited for next season, and high hopes for OSU WBB Team.

Just the way she stepped to the foul line and knocked down those last 4 crucial FT’s as naturally as if she were breathing in and breathing out was stunning (to me).

So many of Clark’s skills are subtle. She does not have blow-by speed, yet she gets to the rim on anybody. This is because she changes speeds and is always a threat to step-back into a 3 that she’s impossible to defend. She never brings the ball across her body near the defender on her layins, able to get the ball into her shooting hand on either side without her off hand involved. She also uses the backboard like nobody else in the modern game - she throws up runners off the rim that are super hard to do, yet they go in as often as layins. And 4 clutch FTs that hardly touch the net makes it clear how well she has control of her mind (contrast that to the Utah guard’s air-ball in a similar situation says how hard that actually is to do with so much on the line).
If Clark was in the Pac-12, I’d probably despise her. Such a unique mastery of the game.
