If we can't play Coach/GM on message boards, what good are they?

I see the stats and stars of some of these ladies in the portal. What is just as important is fit. Are they coachable, good team mates, work hard, unselfish, etc. That is just as important as talent imo.

LOL! All these postings about who Scott should go after or what positions need another body sounds like the game of snipe hunting. We’re thin at post snipe and point snipe. Yeah, I think we need bigger than snipes. Much too short.

I don't remember watching her play, but one player who is in the portal is 5'10" Ioanna Krimili from Greece who has played at San Francisco. She's a great 3pt shooter .380 as a true freshman before being injured, .455 as a redshirt freshman, .350 as a sophomore, and .394 as a junior. She was able to redshirt her first season because she only played 9 games before her injury. Her second freshman year was the covid bonus year, so she still has up to two years to play. She's also great at getting to the free throw line, 108 times as a freshman and 138 times as a sophomore. Here's her stats over the years against Pac12 schools: Washington 5pts USC 7 pts USC 29pts 5 assist Colorado 5pts Cal 15pts 5rbs Cal 26pts 6rbs Washington St 14pts Washington St 17 pts 5rbs Stanford 17pts 6rbs (her true freshman year) Oregon State 27pts 5 assist

However, she shot really poorly late in the season, including against UW and held to 5 pts. Wondering if her late-season slump was injury related.

UC Santa Barbara's 6'4" IIa Lane may be a very interesting prospect for a Pac12 team. Three year starter. Averaged 13 points and 10 rebounds per game over her career. Also has a career shooting percentage of .567

6'3" Marta Suarez, Tennessee, is thought to be in the Portal, with 3-years of eligibility. Would be an outstanding addition to OSU WBB Team.

Wouldn't mind seeing OSU recruit Ware: So it's Arizona's turn to lose players. Ware would work perfect she is 6/4. Get her Rueck

Get her Rueck That's 5 UA in portal (counting grad Guard Lauren Fields). 4 Guards and a center, including 2 FR 'combo' guards. At least 2 of the 5, including Ware, have been teammates of Bendu Yeaney. Bendu played with such positive energy * this season - perhaps they've been 'in touch' ?? * positive energy pretty well sums up the difference between players like Yeaney (and Blacklock - wow!), and at least one or two of the Beav WBB players that have left via the portal in very recent years. No need to mention names, but from a fans perspective it's' sure a helluva lot more enjoyable watching players/team that have that energy.

I must admit that it is a lot more fun on this side of the portal.

She may be a possibility at PG if we can't land any bigger names. Went to HS with Slocum:

Darian White had a real nice career at Montana State. Good defensive player as well as a scorer. If she had two years, I think she would be a good add. I'm not sure with only one year, she would adjust to the Pac12 game in time.
The portal is really starting to get some interesting additions. Missouri's 5'8"Lauron Hansen, and Tennessee's (Spain's) Martha Suarez 6'3", as well as Duke's Shayean Day-Wilson, 5'6" point guard. Kennedy Brown might not recommend the Beavs, but would Aleah and Taya have good things to say if SR showed interest?
I would love to see the Beavs take a shot at Esmery Martinez. Her, Raegan, and Tamia would make a great three players with size.

Martinez was my very favorite player to follow this year, she played with lots of attitude lots and lots of hustle and humility. Just my favorite type of player. Yes she would be a great get for Osu. Beware that Iowa might try to.

Anything from Tennessee would be a good get.just playing in practice day after day in their wbb program is going to develope you.their team this year was one of the best I have seen in a long time.
