Beavs are off to a good start at 10-2. We have some games under our belt to evaluate the roster. So, headed into conference play what is the lineup that you hope to see out there? For what it's worth, right now mine is:
1. McDowell - CF 2. Bazzana - 2B 3. Turley - RF 4. Forrester - 3B 5. Kane -SS 6. Guerra - LF 7. Kasper - DH 8. Tanner Smith - C 9. Krieg - 1B
And then get Derde in there late in games with the lead, bumping Kane to 3rd and Forrester to 1st and benching Krieg.

Looks like a good hitting lineup for sure. Whatever happens, just gotta make sure SS, and 1st are dialed. The errors have damn near cost us several games, and will surely moving forward, if we keep committing them at the current frequency. iirc, the loss to NM we had 2 or 3 errors.
At this point, Dernedde might have a slight advantage over Kane defensively.....be interesting to see how it plays out.

Good lineup Beavsab. I'd also like to see Wheeler get an entire game in at the DH spot!

Good lineup Beavsab. I'd also like to see Wheeler get an entire game in at the DH spot! What's up with Wheeler? Is he just not the same since the eye injury?

I think a lot of people are wondering about that. I question how much is mental at this point versus lingering/lasting impact on his vision. Whatever the case may be, feel for the guy and hope he's able to return to old form before it's all over.

Wheeler just may not be great enough or may not be great enough at enough things to crack the lineup. Or maybe Mitchy Slick wants to save Wheeler for greatest effect. If no one has any tape on him to prep, he can sneak up on you at a critical point. I loved Malone trotting out at the College World Series and getting balls to hit in important situations against North Carolina and Mississippi State.

Speaking of the talent on this team and sticking with the thread topic, I'd like to see Krieg get some more mound time and left in the order when he does. I didn't even know he pitched until the SD game.

Like that lineup. I would love to see Dern get a fire in his belly and lock down SS. When hes playing at full potential hes a special player.

What's up with Cedillo? He was arguably the best hitter on the team in fall ball.

Please let it be that. I hate to think that it is something lingering from his injury last year.

What's up with Cedillo? He was arguably the best hitter on the team in fall ball. He was sick for Coppin and just had a slow series against Calpoly. I wouldn't worry about it yet.

How do you know that Cedillo was sick for Coppin State?

When should Mitch think about batting Turley after Donkey? Do you think it would help Donkey get some good pitches?
Just an idea.

How do you know that Cedillo was sick for Coppin State? Mitch said so in one of the pregame interviews.
