Way to go, Lady Beavs, for digging deep and gutting out a W in the P12 tourney! Admittedly, this is the first Beaver women’s game I’ve watched in its entirety of the season. My thoughts: Beers is a beast! Bendu shouldn’t shoot, hell, she even missed a gimmi lay-up! Adlee should stay out there more and be given the green light to shoot, appears she already has. For as big as Jelena is she sure has a smooth stroke. I thought Timea was a complete non-factor in last night’s game. She got stuffed a couple times and just didn’t bring anything positive to the game. I know she’s had some good offensive showings but I can understand now why Rueck doesn’t play her much. I wouldn’t be surprised if she transfers out, unfortunately. Let’s see if the girls can put together an even bigger upset tonight!! Go Beavs!!! ?? Why do you think would Timea transer out? It looks to me that Timea is totally into the game and her team. I saw a post by her mom on Twitter and it led me to believe that they are not thinking about her going to the portal. I think people forget that Gardiner is far behind her teammates this season because of her injury...she hasn't even played half a season. She's shown flashes of great potential on offense but I think she's having more of a typical freshman learning experience than Beers, who was ready to go at this level from Day 1.

It looks to me that Timea is totally into the game and her team. First of all, I certainly hope she doesn't! She seem to have some offensive skills that can be an asset once she can be consistent with them. My concern about her transferring is only because we all know how star players think. She was the s*$t as a high schooler and on the club circuit with tons of accolades. Wasn't she a 5-star recruit? We've all seen it play out so many times before when you have a previously talented player that doesn't pan out initially in college. They lose playing time (in her case she gets hardly any time) and struggles and they decide that it's not them it's the program so a change should be made. In their head they are better than they looked. Maybe Timea is, I hope so. She just looked so, so lost last night. Now, to be fair, I haven't seen her play before so maybe last night's game was an aberration. I'm just going by what I saw in that game. I hope she heals and gets her confidence and game back and is next year's most improved player! I'll happily eat crow! I want nothing more than to see this team stick together so we can have some continuity. Go Beavs!

Based on watching all the games I predict that she stays.

Timea is averaging 8.6 PPG and 3.7 RPG. For a freshman who missed that much time, I'd say that's pretty impressive. Missing that much time would clearly impact one's conditioning, speed, and defense, especially a freshman's. Raegan and Jelena have also been playing really well together these past two games.
She also played with two other top-100 post players in high school and was the second leader scorer as a freshman and senior and third as a junior. She's always struck me as an unselfish, team-first player. I'd be shocked if a few games of limited minutes led her to leave OSU.

The guy making his portal prediction admitted in his post he hadn’t watched a full OSU WBB game this season until yesterday. Take it for what it’s worth.

Timea is still learning the college game, and she is in pre conference shape. Her first game of the year was mid conference so we have a small sample size of her potential. During the the regular season Timea played seven minutes against USC and after last night you can see why she had limited minutes. Just my option but all the freshman will return. Our teams future is on solid ground as the players mature and get used to the physicality of the college game.

Wow, you guys sure seem to get your panties in a wad when someone says something mildly negative about something OSU related. Geez! My only point was that I wouldn't be surprised if she did transfer. That's it! Again, I hope she doesn't. I just don't have any confidence, whatsoever, in Rueck retaining players after the last few years. I was his biggest, biggest fan but I'm really perplexed and disappointed how the program has regressed to the point it's currently at. Maybe last night was the turning point back to the top! We'll have to get back to top-10 recruiting, in my opinion, before we're able to return to our previous elite status.
Go Beavs!

Well, somebody who is for sure entering the portal is...Savannah Samuels. On the move again. I guess the grass wasn't greener at West Virginia. Maybe the third time will be the charm for her.

A lot of fans are very sensitive when someone brings up something that can even be remotely perceived as negative about "their" team/player(s)/coach. I understand it but it doesn't usually add to the conversation when you're trying to consider different factors/reasons why a team/player(s)/coach might be struggling or making certain decisions or whatever. IMO, your question is a fair one. Again, I for one don't think Gardiner is going to leave, mainly based on what her mom posted on Twitter...but I also haven't noticed any bad body language or anything from Gardiner. I'm pretty sure at this point that the majority of the team will be back. And while the program has regressed from a win-loss perspective, this team has stayed competitive pretty much the entire season and IMO is very close to jumping back into the top half of the Pac-12 next year if Rueck is able to make a couple of key additions.

Every outward indication seems to point to her being happy at Oregon State. She uses a picture of her co-freshmen as her backdrop on twitter, etc. Her post seem to be positive about Oregon State. I really believe, that in spite of the losses this year, the freshman know that if they stick together, they will build something special at Oregon State. I hope the majority of them stay, along with Talia and AJ. I can see all of them playing vital roles the next 2-3 years.

This will not be the same Beavers team that Colorado saw earlier. We were out-rebounded 46-26, out-scored in the 1st period 21-6. And 6 turn-overs in 1st period.
Jelena had just 2 points and 2 rebounds. TVO had 0 points. Mannon played 25 minutes and had 0 points and 0 rebounds. But Gardiner had 13 points 6 rebounds in 21 minutes. Blacklock 9 points zero rebounds in 21 minutes. Beers 8 points, 10 rebounds 33 minutes.
I think we have grown up since then.

She certainly has skills, but very often is a step slow in much of what she does. Conditioning is key and I'd bet that she is not the same player next year. As for the rest, hope all stay, and certainly MIT. Right now, I'd bet there are zero PAC12 teams that want to play them if or death. They really do have the talent to be a beast next year and going forward.

And I assumed that he at least has been following the team. And Gardiner did go from playing 30 minutes vs. WSU and 27 vs. ASU to 7 vs. Arizona and 7 against USC, so that's what I thought he was getting at, but obviously I don't think she's going anywhere. Anyway, that's where I'm coming from.
