Bendu, please drive and dish. Beers fouls Marshall out. 2 big free throws at the end, but 1-15 from the field the last two games. Uff-dah. If we’re gonna have a chance vs the Buffs, she’ll need to make some shots

Well, the refs gave Beers due respect tonight, 8-9 free throws. Except for the flop foul and maybe an early call, they didn't hit her with a lot of iffy calls

Blacklock with another great game...15 points (3-6 3-pointers), 6 rebounds, 2 steals and an assist She looked very fit and strong tonight.

The Beav's had more steals. I wonder when the last time that happened?

We don't need no point guard, we have a point post! Beers bringing the ball up is a riot.

The slooooowwww Beav's won the fast break battles 16 to 11. I just don't understand how those slow slow Beav's beat those fast fast Trojans?? Ah well, that will probably never happen again.
Huh, winning seems to bring out the snark in me....oh well. Maybe Sherrod will score 100 points while running laps around the team.

Not sure OSU's record this year has been the best against faster teams and they were 0-2 against USC before tonight... But Rueck also made some good personnel decisions as well, knowing that he had to have some sort of counter for USC's speed. Yeaney played 36 minutes and had a pretty good game with the exception of the 0-8 shooting. She had eight assists and four turnovers while taking on the bulk of the ballhandling. But what really stood out is that Mannen played just 10 minutes while Marotte played 33 and even did some strong ballhandling for the Beavers. Blacklock did not seem too bothered by the speed either. And Beers showed what she's really capable of with the ball in her hands. Rueck also made some good defensive decisions to force USC out of its game. But realistically, it would have been very difficult for the Beavers to deal with USC's pressure and overall speed without Yeaney and Marotte.

Marotte looks good handling the ball...maybe she should get a longer look at point guard AJ has speed too. She blew past the defender in the moment you mentioned. I only wish she would have stopped and popped... it was in her range and the defender was discombobulated just enough to probably foul, Last year: Codding, Mannen, TVO and Tea were neither able to inbound consistently after a made basket nor get the ball across the time line without it being stolen, I wondered why Rueck didn't give AJ or Greta a chance. Eventually, during the NIT Emily figured it out but Rueck kept subbing in for her. AJ could be the modern long PG. Baylor won a 'chip with one who didn't shoot threes. Like a long QB they can see the floor and enough of a scoring threat to manipulate the D. Hmmm...now you got me thinking.

Beer's steal at 3/4 court and subsequent rundown of the ball and finishing with the lay-up was a thing of beauty. She also takes a lot of pressure off full court press other teams love to apply to us. Her ball handling and basketball IQ are off the charts, for a freshman.
