Hypothetical: What if WT takes his talented freshman team to the NCAA tournament in 2025? That team would include future Bigs Gavin Marrs and Thomas Ndong, along with the nucleus of Pope, GTJr, Bilodeau, Rataj, Wright, J5 and KC + some other un-named recruits and transfers. Regardless if they won their first game or not, would that be enough to prolong Big Fellas coaching career at OSU? It may be too painful for some to think. It'd be both awesome and funny.

What if we win the NC this year. Its a dumb hypothetical at this point. Its better to base those thoughts on what has happened already over hopes and dreams.

Not dumb at all. Is it possible? Imo yes. The key is to keep Pope,Rataj,Bilideau,K.C. on the roster with the two bigs signed this year adding a three point shooter and interior athletic rebounder/defender and the current frosh continue to develop. Then you continue as status quo...

NCAA in 2016 was fueled by GPII star power. NCAA in 2021 was fueled by Ethan and Alatishe NCAA in 2025 could be fueled by Jordan Pope. That wouldn't surprise true Beaver fans here. They've seen the star power since game 1. He stands out and could be Pac12 Freshman of the Year. What's sad is some here don't want that.

I personally want osu MBB to succeed...makes no difference if it's under Wayne or someone else. The key is to keep Pope,Rataj,Bilideau with K.C. together. All four have talent but need time in the weight room, training room, and time together. Marrs is a gifted 6-11 kid who could use 20 pounds of weight and strength added. Really versatile athlete like we see across the country. In today's age, kids leaving programs is so rampant. Hope it doesn't occur at osu. The frosh class does have the potential to reach the big dance with development.

The key for Wayne is going to be holding onto these guys. We haven't had the best track record of holding onto younger guys in the program, but this is probably the first year that those guys have played major minutes, which will (hopefully) help them feel like this is a place they can thrive. If he holds onto them, I could see them being in the mix for the NCAAs in the next 2-3 years. If a few of them move on, it may be time to for the university to move on too.

He’s not going anywhere running this type of offense.

He’s not going anywhere running this type of offense. Considering this offensive scheme has gone to the NCAA tournament 2 of the last 6 times is was held that's quite a statement. I don't care for the offensive scheme either, but it hasn't completely stopped the team from winning in the past.

3 NCAA runs would invalidate the narrative and make some heads explode. The 2021 Pac12 title championship and NCAA elite 8 run proved some people wrong and made them look bad. It kinda embarrassed them. WT can't be allowed to continue on for a 3rd NCAA run, he must be stopped. Fire him now! lolz

This offense seems to have been fine against Tennessee,Loyola(Chicago) and Oklahoma State two years ago. This years team is extremely young. They certainly need time together and physical development. Gotta keep the core group together to make a 2025 tournament run.

What's holding back WT and OSU in MBB is a TALENT ISSUE. Give WT 4 and 5 star kids and I think he'd do much better. Coaching and offensive scheme isn't holding the Beavs back.

Well, let me reel you back in there - the talent issue is at least in part on the coaching staff. They're charged with bringing in recruits. Is it harder to get high level recruits to Corvallis? I think it is. If I was a current high school basketball player with offers from every Pac-12 school, I'm not sure OSU would be my first choice. Arizona and UCLA would definitely get consideration as perennial tournament contenders and Stanford and Cal for academic reasons before I even evaluated coaching staffs, style of play, or roster fit. So yeah, it's not entirely on the staff for not being able to recruit 4* or 5* kids.....but that's kind of part of the job at OSU.....you've got to figure out a way to be competitive against schools with built in advantages. I think that in most years Tinkle has done that, and a few times he's broken through and exceeded merely competing.
